CHAPTER 34: A Role Model

  Emma's POV

My eyes fluttered open, groggily taking in my surroundings. I was met with the beeping of machines and the sterile smell of a hospital room. But it was the familiar faces of my mates, Hunter, Bennett, and Parker, that made my heart skip a beat. They were seated in chairs around my bed, their eyes fixed on me with varying degrees of concern and relief.

Hunter had a concerned expression, but he seemed calm and was the first to speak up. "Emma, thank the moon goddess you're awake. We were worried sick about you."

Bennett leaned closer, his hand holding mine tightly as if never wanting to let go. "We've been here the whole time, waiting for you to come back to us." He revealed with a hint of a smile. I couldn't help but smile back.

My eyes shifted to Parker and I realized how quiet he was. But he slowly took my hand, his eyes locked on mine with an intensity that made me feel seen and cared for.
