CHAPTER 27: Jealousy Overload

  Emma's POV

"Okay, that's enough. Why are you fighting over this?" My voice rang in the room, causing the both of them to stop abruptly.

"Emma, you do realize that you need to rest. Thus, following him outside all the time isn't good for you. You know you need to recover. You can't always put yourself in danger," Bennett muttered, his voice calm, but his tone was still firm.

"I told you already that I can take care of myself. You don't need to worry about me all the time. Nothing bad is going to happen to me and besides I was with Parker all throughout, and I'm sure that he would protect me for sure if ever danger shows its face," I reasoned, trying to give him reasons to relax, but he seemed tense and unwilling to listen.

"I get that you're trying to help me, but Parker wasn't doing anything bad to me. He was simply taking me out to get a breather. Or don't you think it's unfair to just stay here and do nothing?" I asked with a frown.
