Emma's POV
We entered the room, but froze at the door when I noticed someone already in the room. It was Bennett and his arms crossed and a scowl on his face. I can sense the tension in the air as Bennett eyes narrow at Parker.
"Where have you been?" Bennett demanded, his voice firm and authoritative. "I specifically told you to keep an eye on her, not take her gallivanting around the woods!"
Parker took a step forward, defensive. "That's not true, I was just trying to help her clear her head. We didn't do anything strenuous."
Bennett immediately cut him off, "You know she's still recovering! And Hunter said she needs rest and relaxation, not some romantic escapade in the woods!"
I felt a surge of embarrassment and frustration. I didn't need Bennett lecturing me like a child. "Bennett, please stop," I said firmly, standing up straight. "I can take care of myself. And Parker was just trying to help."
