CHAPTER 110: Confronting the Shadows

Elizabeth stared at her mother as her curiosity sharpened with each revelation.

"You said they had a second plan in mind, what exactly was that plan?" Elisabeth asked.

Isabelle's gaze softened, a blend of sorrow and regret shadowing her eyes. She took a breath, her voice dropping.

"Their plan was to find out everything about me…..my past, my family, everything that could ruin us." Isabelle laminated.

  Elizabeth's brows furrowed in confusion.

"But why, Mom? You were in love and you loved Dad. What could they find that would make them act so… cruel?" she asked.

Isabelle hesitated, a heaviness settling in her chest. She knew revealing the full truth would be painful but she couldn't hold it back any longer because Elizabeth deserved to know.

"Because I fell in love too easily… and with someone I never should have, your father." Isabelle whispered.

Elizabeth blinked, the weight of her mother's words sinking in. "But… why, Mom? Why was it so wrong?" She asked.
