CHAPTER 22 Jackson's worry

In the days that followed, Emma was bedridden due to her fever. Jackson, concerned for her well-being, canceled his business trip.

As usual, Jackson woke up early and entered Emma's room, intending to bring her some water. But the moment he saw her trying to stand, he knew something was wrong. His eyes quickly noticed that the IV drip had been removed from Emma's arm. His blood ran cold, and a wave of worry washed over him.

"Emma, what are you doing?" Jackson asked, his voice a mix of concern and surprise. He quickly moved to her side, steadying her as she wobbled on her feet.

"I'm fine... I just didn't want to trouble you anymore..." Emma whispered, but her voice was weak and tired. She tried to stand firm, but her legs trembled, refusing to obey her will.
