CHAPTER 29: Standing Tall

  Hannah’s POV

Lyla’s eyes were burning with anger, her expression twisted with bitterness as she glared at me. The courtroom was almost empty now, with only a few lingering staff members left behind. But Lyla wasn’t ready to let this go. The sting of defeat was clear in every word she spat at me.

“Don’t walk away from me, Hannah!” Lyla’s voice was laced with venom as she took a step closer. “You think you can just smile your way through this? You think I’m going to let you get away with ruining everything?”

I sighed, feeling a mix of irritation and exhaustion. Her accusations had already crossed the line, but it was clear she wasn’t going to back down. There was no point in arguing further, Lyla’s mind was set, and nothing I said would change her perspective.
