CHAPTER 83: The Dilemma

  Christian's POV

When Hannah told me about the opportunity of work, my first reaction was happiness for her. Of course, I was proud. She deserved it after everything she'd accomplished. But as her words sank in, my thoughts immediately started spiraling in another direction.

  London.

And not just for a few weeks. Months. Maybe even longer.

I smiled at her, trying to keep my face neutral, but the thought of her being away, so far away, without me… it gnawed at my insides. As much as I wanted to support her, something dark and uneasy coiled in my chest.

  Michael.

He lived in London. I knew that much. And no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't ignore that little fact. Hannah had been clear, there was nothing between them, and I believed her. I really did. But that didn't erase the history they had, or how he had shown up out of nowhere, trying to worm his way back into her life. Now, she would be in the same city as him, while I was stuck here.
