CHAPTER 10 The Cost Of Betrayal

  Dominic's POV

"You think you can bullshit your way out of this?" I asked coolly, my eyes hard as I stared at Antonio, who was tied to a chair in the mansion basement.

His eyes were wide, and he breathed raggedly. "Dominic, please. I had no choice."

Luca smirked, leaning against the wall. "You say that, Antonio, but it sounds like you made a series of really bad mistakes. Look where it's gotten you."

I crossed my arms and narrowed my eyes. "I trusted you, Antonio. I let you get close. And you repay me by selling us out to the Grimaldis?"

"Almost priceless," Antonio protested. "They threatened my family! I- I didn't know what else to do."

Luca clicked his tongue and shook his head in mock disappointment. "Threatened your family? Antonio, do you have any idea who you're talking to? Dominic here could have protected your family better than anyone. But no, you decided to play the hero all by yourself."

Antonio lowered his head and whispered, "I was scared."
