CHAPTER 72 Brewing Storms

  Dominic's POV

Luca was pacing in front of me, his fists clenched at his sides. "So what's this about Dominic, another lecture?"

"Luca, we need to talk," I tried to keep my voice even, but it buckled like a live wire. "There's something in the air, a threat, serious. I think somehow it's connected to Antonio."

Luca stopped pacing abruptly and turned toward me. Cold as ice, words started to seep from between his lips: "Antonio? Did the number call again?"

I bit hard on the surge. "Yes, and It's not just about that. It's about where that call is coming from. You know the place."

"Where's the call coming from?" Luca crossed his arms. "You got Stefano tracking it, don't you? So, what's the big deal?"

I repeated, by now leaning more forward. "Something deeper. It's not some kind of threat out of the blue. It's personal, Luca. To either of us."

Luca snorted, running a hand through his hair. "Personal to you, maybe. Not to me."
