CHAPTER 88 A Desperate Plan

  Dominic's POV

  "We're running around in circles, Stefano," I growled, flinging yet another useless document onto the pile. "Every lead we chase down turns into nothing. It's like he's toying with us."

  Stefano scowled, bending over the maps sprawled across the table. "We're missing something, Dominic. There's got to be a way to corner him."

  "Robert's not some street thug," Alessandro snarled, each word dripping with ire. "This is something he's been planning for years. He knows how we run. He knows how you think, Dominic."

  I fisted my hands, my anger bubbling just below my skin. "So what are you precisely saying? That we fold?"

  "No," Stefano said; his voice firm, his eyes caught and held mine. "I'm saying we change strategy. We've been playing on defense this whole time. We need to go on the offense."
