CHAPTER 94 Web Of Deceit

  Jocelyn's POV

"I don't feel safe anymore, Dominic," I whinged, playing the victim to perfection, clutching my purse against my chest, wide-eyed. "I'm telling you, someone's been following me."

Dominic looked up from his desk, face impassive. "Have you thought about asking your father for more security?" he asked, the tone of his voice too level.

Of course, he'd say that. I chewed the inside of my lip and curbed the urge to roll my eyes. "I have, but he's out of the country, and won't be back in weeks. And you know how it is. He's got enough on his plate. I don't want to burden him with my problems."

"Jocelyn, this isn't a game," Dominic said in a low tone,  "If you're really in danger, I can have men..."

"No, I don't want some strangers around me. I don't trust them, I managed to stammer, trying with all my might to quiver my voice, to make it as close to believable as possible. "The only place I'm safe is here, with you."
