CHAPTER 63 Stuck in chaos.

  Cavin’s POV

The office felt suffocating today, more than usual. My attempts to focus on work were futile, my mind a whirlwind of thoughts. Eliza’s face haunted me—her teary eyes, the way she ran upstairs after that fiasco with Adam and Natalie. It was like the foundation of everything I held dear was crumbling beneath me, and I couldn’t do anything to stop it.

Her phone was still unreachable, and that uneasiness gnawed at my insides. I glanced at the clock for the hundredth time—it read 6:45 PM. Time seemed to mock me with its slow crawl, stretching every minute into an eternity. I couldn't bear the wait any longer. As soon as the clock struck 7 PM, I grabbed my coat and headed out.

The drive back to the mansion was tense, my knuckles whitening against the steering wheel. My head swirled with questions: What was Eliza thinking? Had she calmed down? Would she even listen to me?
