CHAPTER 87 In the arms of safety

  Eliza's POV

The room was quiet, But in my mind, chaos reigned. Shadows of my past torment clawed their way into my dreams, dragging me back into that dark ship, the sinister laughter echoing in my ears.

In my dream, I was back in that room—the one with the gilded walls and heavy scent of danger. I saw the Sheikh's face, his greedy eyes devouring my fear. My body trembled as his shadow loomed over me. I screamed, calling for help, but my voice was swallowed by the darkness.

"Cavin!" I yelled in my sleep, the sound tearing through my throat as I bolted upright. My chest heaved as I tried to catch my breath. My eyes darted around, desperate to ground myself in reality.

Strong arms wrapped around me suddenly, pulling me close to a solid chest. My panicked breaths began to slow as I recognized the familiar scent of leather and cedar.

"It's okay, Eliza," Cavin whispered against my hair. His voice was soft but firm, grounding me. "You're safe now. I've got you."
