My entire body itched with this need to run after her, but my mind told me to give her space. Running my hand through my hair for the millionth time, I couldn’t wait any longer.
She had been gone for hours, and I couldn’t be away from her anymore.
Logan whimpered, licking his invisible wounds.
“She will come back, don’t worry,” Conner’s words did nothing to ease my pain.
“I can’t lose her,” I whispered, halting my pacing. “And you!” My eyes snapped at his, knowing what he did. “You did that on purpose, didn’t you?”
He laughed and nodded. “I only wanted to help her understand, and it was a bonus you felt it.”
I huffed, remembering how I felt the pain of the mate bond when he touched her—when he touched what was mine.
My next words got stuck in the back of my throat when I sensed her. She was back.

My body shivered when she ran upstairs, not even granting me a glance.
