Haylie POV
My heart raced as I followed Liam out of the baby's room. I had no idea what he was planning, but the mark on my neck burned hot against my skin. The heat felt like it was igniting every nerve in my body.
We crossed the hallway, stopping in front of a door I hadn't entered before. Liam opened it and stepped inside, gesturing for me to follow. I hesitated briefly before stepping in, and to my surprise, I realized it was his bedroom.
The lights were off, the only illumination coming from the golden hues of the setting sun streaming through the windows. The air felt thick with unspoken tension as he closed the door behind us.
The faint click of the lock sent a shiver down my spine.
