Haylie POV
Even though Liam had already spoken to my parents about the pregnancy, I was still a wreck at the thought of seeing my mother and father again. Fear gnawed at me—what would they think of me? What would they say now that their little girl wasn't so innocent anymore?
As we stepped into the hallway, my legs felt like they might give out beneath me. There they were, my parents, standing together. When my mother's eyes met mine, she immediately started toward me.
"Liam," I whispered nervously, glancing back at him. His arm tightened around my waist, grounding me, and he gave me a reassuring smile.
"Haylie, my sweetheart," my mother's soft voice broke through the tension in the air. I licked my lips nervously, trying to summon a smile, though my insides felt like a whirlwind.
Then my father joined us, and I felt my mother's arms wrap around me. Liam didn't let go of me; he stayed right by my side, just as I needed him to.
