Chapter 43

{University has been exhausting, I've had to stay up to midnight multiple times now to get assignments done. And this story isn't dropped it just takes me a while to write. Check out my patreon @ patreon.com/TheFudgeNPC to support my writing (: }

1st Pov

Stepping backwards away from the two drones I approached the shut door, then without hesitation I walk straight through it. Taking a moment to appreciate the looks of shock on their faces.

Chuckling to myself on the other side of the door I begin looking for a control panel, finding one I tap it and cause the door to open.

Rising into the ceiling the door gives way to reveal N paused mid motion lifting Uzi up into the vents.

"Chop Chop, we don't have time for you to crawl around the vents." – Morgan

Blushing, or at least doing her equivalent, Uzi awkwardly jumps down from N's hands before walking passed me and into the bunker. Waving N over I turn to follow the angsty teen robot.

Walking through the nearly identical hallways, I take my time to look at any discerning details. After a few minutes of walking, I notice the distant sounds of fighting have decreased and make sure to tell my two robotic companions.

"It sounds like they've stopped fighting." – Morgan

"Huh? How can you tell, I can't hear anything." – N

"I've got good senses." – Morgan

Groaning for no apparent reason Uzi rolls her eyes before breaking into a sprint, easily following behind her we eventually arrive in a large underground warehouse. On the far side I notice a large group of worker drones backed into a corner whilst the two female disassembly drones, J and V, take their time taunting them by slowly picking off their friends.

Scanning my surroundings quickly I notice nobody is looking my way and figure it's a good time to troll the murderous robots. Shifting into a puddle of goop I mirror the colour and texture of the floor as I rapidly cross the vast warehouse.

Reaching a good spot between the murder drones and the workers I reform into a bunch of boxes. I finish my form just in time as well because almost on cue V attacks the only drone trying to defend themself.

And Uzi clearly not appreciating how easy it is to shoot someone in the back – decides to announce her presence to the world. Going over a bit of dialogue the two talk about betrayal and not being appreciated, or at least something along those lines.

Getting into the juicy bits I overhear Uzi discussing who to attack with N, neither of the two seeming to of noticed my disappearance. Moving ahead with the fight Uzi starts it off by throwing a pen at highspeed.

Flying through the air the pen twists perfectly and smashes straight into one of the weird glowing lights on J's head, the attack causing yellow goop to spill everywhere.

Meanwhile on the other side N accelerates to near the speed of sound as he clashes with V, both their hands shifting away to reveal blades.

Rushing in towards J, Uzi decides to have fun quipping. Personally, I myself like a good quip or two during a fight but Uzi really has to learn to fight first, talk later when she is clearly the weaker party.

Moving back to the fight whilst V and N rampage around at high speed, J manages to pull the pen from her head and throws it at Uzi. Jumping mid air Uzi kicks the pen perfectly causing it to fly right back the way it came and hit J's visor.

Seeing her handling the fight pretty well I don't have much to do as everyone seems pretty occupied, returning to my base form I decide to munch some popcorn whilst waiting for the fight to progress.

Cut forward a few minutes and surprisingly Uzi has J on the ground with her railgun in the murder drones face, N on the other hand doesn't fair as well and is missing an arm whilst V holds a blade to his neck.

Glancing around I don't see anyone stepping in to help so I decide now's a good time to join in, putting my popcorn into my inventory I start walking at a casual pace towards the hostage drone.

Almost instantly upon hearing the sounds of me walking closer all the quiet drones turn at once to look at me, at the same time nearly all of them minus N and Uzi freeze up in confusion.

Capitalising on the distraction I kick off the ground, easily breaking the sound barrier and almost instantly appearing next to V, a single finger rested against her blade.

Optics widening in shock V attempts to cut N's head off only for my finger to stop her blade effortlessly, reeling back she makes to swing again but stops when a resounding boom echoes from the other two assailants.

Looking over Uzi stood there above the smoking remains of J, her railgun glowing red as it leans against her shoulder. Seeing everyone looking at her she sheepishly raises her hands.

"What? She was evil." – Uzi

Pausing for a few seconds to let the silence set in, I take the chance to capture V. Pulling a pair of reinforced handcuffs from my inventory I slap them around her elbows, as they are the thinnest parts of her arms.

"Good job Uzi!" – Morgan

Cheering on the casual robot murder I grab hold of the handcuffs preventing V from moving, extending a tendril from my shoulder I use it to grab hold of the centre of the handcuffs.

Moving over to N I drag the confused V behind me as I begin checking on the injured robot. Almost instantly though I realise I don't know anything about how they work and that my concern isn't needed as his arm begins reforming.

Shrugging it off I look around at the still silent robots, none of which have actively moved since I revealed myself.

"What's up with all of you, never seen a… Chimera? Before." – Morgan

Pausing briefly part way through my sentence I realise I never actually clarified what I was, I've always been a combination of species and don't know what to call myself other than a chimera.

Unfreezing first V lunges at me, her hands retracting and being replaced by swords. Controlling the tendril holding her handcuffs I stop her attack mid motion by holding her in the air.

"Unhand me strange creature! Let me kill you and feast on your entrails!" – V

Ignoring the very murderous robot I gently kick N, leaping to his feet N looks between me and the suspended V seemingly trying to form a proper sentence, only for Uzi to cut him off.

"OMG that was so cool Morgan, how did you go that fast? How are you doing that weird black tendril thing? What else can you do?" – Uzi

"Don't worry about it, I'm built different." – Morgan

Looking at me suspiciously Uzi seems to want to keep asking me questions but is cut off by the return of the worker drones. Deciding it will be annoying to go through the whole 'What are you!?' thing again, I quickly morph myself to resemble a worker drone, the only notable features being my draconic wings and tail which I chose to keep.

Stepping back, I partially hide from view whilst Uzi and her dad have a arguement, shooting a glance at N he looks at me surprised for a bit before resolving himself and approaching Uzi. Out of nowhere Uzi glitches and starts sparking briefly, dashing forward N quickly and carefully places her on his shoulders.

Continuing her conversation after a minor pause it eventually reaches a crescendo when Uzi declares herself banished, looking at the captive V she rolls her eyes before looking away.

Following her self-banishment N decides to leave by leaping out through the roof, sighing I decide to follow them. Bending my knees slightly I push off the ground with enough force to crack it, V still attached to me by a tendril is dragged along behind me screaming all the way.

Reaching a sufficient height above the worker colony I return to my base form and extend my wings, looking around I don't see N and Uzi anywhere nearby but do notice a traumatised look on V's face.

Lifting her up to my head height I tap her twice on her visor, rebooting her visor shows a spinning wheel before she comes back online.

"What the hell is wrong with you! You almost tore my arms off!" – V

"You're the one who's all 'Murder, Murder, Murder!,' besides you're a prisoner. Normally I kill anyone who's killed as many as you, but I'm still deciding whether I want to count worker drones so you get to live." Shrugging, I nonchalantly tell her about my true feelings on the whole murder thing.

Blanching she seems to finally realise I'm the most dangerous thing around here and falls silent. Lowering her back down I turn towards the spire and take off.

Flying over the snow swept landscape I passively count any bodies I see, easily reaching a few thousand skeletons by the time I get to the spire.

Flying down I notice Uzi looking like a maniac while shouting about murdering all humans, not judging yet I decide to find a human in this universe first.

Dropping V into the pod she chooses to complain instead of fleeing, and not seeing a problem with it I decide to leave her there. Glancing around the sparsely decorated body filled spire I could only sigh, I guess I should work on my tech for now.

***************************************1 Day Later**********************************

Tossing some scrap parts to the side I finalise a basic adjustment to my neural connector, popping it on the side of my head I'm instantly greeted by the familiar influx of data.

Smiling widely, I begin to sift and sort it to my liking, unfortunately though it seems most of the data is either incredibly corrupted, outdated, or contains some kind of virus called the absolute solver.

"Urgh, stopping smiling like that, its creepy, you're creepy. What even are you." – V

Shooting a glare at the ever consistent murder robot I roll my eyes before turning back to my work, pulling over a mechanical scythe I begin fiddling with it.

Suddenly N bursts through the doorway, the ever energetic robot barely slowing down as him begins hopping around.

"Guys! Guys! Guess what… The workers invited me and Uzi to the colony, something about disappearing drones and all that." – N

Putting down the weapon I hop to my feet.

"Cool I was getting bored here, lets go." – Morgan

Swiping my arm across the bench I was working at I stash everything in my inventory before following N out of the pod. Stopping briefly at the door I turn back around and address the annoyed disassembly drone chained to the wall.

"V stay here, if you try to run away I'll be able to find you." – Morgan

"Yeah, Yeah, whatever. I'll stay here, it's not like I have anywhere else to be." – V

Glancing at the slightly depressed robot I decide to deal with that later and get back to what I was doing, exiting the pod I stretch my wings and take to the air heading towards the drones colony.

A very short flight later, curtesy of breaking the sound barrier, I arrive outside the colony just as N does. Dropping Uzi and another drone N straightens before waving at me, waving back I stroll over to the small group.

"So… we've got a mystery?" – Morgan

"Yep, let's go" – Uzi

Not even entertaining some small talk Uzi starts walking off towards the door, railgun in a strap over her shoulder. Shrugging to N I push off the ground, flying into the air I casually fly a perfect parabola over Uzi before landing perfectly by the door.

Rolling her eyes Uzi pushes me to the side before thumping her metal fist against the door, looking at N he gives me a small thumbs up before standing next to Uzi.

Creaking slightly the thin layer of ice across the door cracks as it opens slightly, inside a single worker drone looks out.

"Oh Uzi! I thought you were grounded, why are you outside? Also isn't he one of those genocide robots?" Pointing at N the worker points out a pretty obvious thing.

Off to the side I start to notice a pattern as I'm again ignored by a worker drone, ignoring their small interaction I reach into my inventory and pull out a few drone pieces I grabbed from the spire.

Glancing up briefly from my work I notice the door fully opening and follow the robots inside, turning back to my work I begin disassembly the covers around the drone heads. Pulling out their main environmental sensors I throw the rest of the parts back into my inventory.

Holding four different sensors in my hand I briefly look around, noticing familiar markers from my earlier visit. Shrugging I begin fiddling with the back of the sensors adding in some basic power cells and transmitters.

Merging my hand into the repaired sensors I begin formatting them and analysing their code, a few seconds later I get them working and begin receiving a output. Spinning the sensors to the drones first, I begin receiving a basic visual feed, and material analysis's.

Turning them to a few more drones I get roughly the same outputs but with minor alterations. Getting to what I wanted to know I extend my arm out away from myself before turning the sensors to face me.

Instantly the sensor begins to glitch, shooting out lots of errors, filtering the errors almost entirely removes me from sight. The only trace of my presence being a glitching silhouette that the sensor keeps trying to erase.

"Oh, that's why you guys keep ignoring me." – Morgan

Addressing the drones they all slowly turn to me, obviously forgetting I'll with them. Sighing I wave them off and begin working on a patch for their sensors, ignoring me they go back to their detective work.
