Everyone fell into a hush when David drove the ball to the starting point. The tension in the air was almost palpable. After what Jerry had done to him in the earlier round, David was more than likely fuming. The crowd could feel it too—the anticipation of what would happen next was thick enough to cut with a knife. They knew David was out for revenge. Everyone, David included, was expecting some kind of payback after Jerry's earlier antics.
As for Jerry, however, he looked surprisingly calm. His stance was unwavering as he locked his gaze on David, waiting for him to make the first move. It was almost as if Jerry knew what was coming, and he was ready. He took a deep breath, steadying himself as David dribbled closer.
