Poison Haze Technique

Sixth finally sighed, his legs no longer able to support him. He sat on the throne, unable to believe he had succeeded in killing the Plague.

He knew the king hid a secret and would somehow survive as usual. So, he used his last resort, the body-swapping technique, leaving the king to breathe his last in his own body and die by his own poisons.

Ha ha ha ha

Sixth laughed at himself. Killing them all hadn't changed anything inside him. True, he had rid the world of their evils, but he still felt the same as the first day he was brought here—emptiness was all he felt within.

He sighed deeply and began to think about what he should do next.

'I'll probably die at the hands of that old bastard's enemies, or maybe not, since that bastard has a secret that saves him from death.'

As soon as he thought of this secret, memories of the king flashed in his mind, revealing the mystery that had puzzled him for years. From the dimensional magic circle drawn on his palm, he retrieved an amulet with a black bird engraved on it.

With the help of a sorcerer, the Plague had managed to bind his soul to this amulet, and every time he was about to die, he transferred his consciousness to his younger self and changed the future.

Sixth thought, since he had taken over the king's body, he would have to live in constant fear of the Poison Master's enemies lurking around. Even if he convinced them he had taken over his body, those craving the Poison Haze Technique would never leave him alone. Therefore, the best option was to return to the king's childhood, before he became the Poison Master butcher.

Without delay, he cut his finger, letting the amulet soak in his blood to activate it, and recited its incantation. His soul detached from his body and was pulled into the amulet.

Sixth found himself in a vast dark realm with a long row of gates before him, realizing that each represented a specific point in time. But all these points were close together, making him feel despair, as returning only a few years wouldn't change anything. But suddenly, a new gate to an ancient point in time appeared far away. As soon as he entered it, he opened his eyes to find a beautiful girl wanting to help him stop the war.

After obtaining the money, Jin rented a room and tried to organize his thoughts.

The flood of memories in his head at once had left him somewhat confused, but now things were becoming clearer.

"Let's see, Jin is the Plague's real name, and it seems he was a scoundrel from a young age, caring only about himself. He abandoned his mother who sacrificed everything for him and lived a life of thievery."

The last memories of the real Jin flashed in his mind, making him feel disgusted.

"The scoundrel was planning to kill the girl who summoned me and steal her money. This explains how he first got the amulet."

Another memory crossed his mind, making him jump up.

"Wait, the Poison Haze Technique is with me now."

From the dimensional magic circle drawn on his palm, he retrieved the Poison Haze book and then delved into his memories again.

**In this world, people rely on spatial cubes. On the surface, they are small black cubes, no more than six centimeters in height. They are magical storage tools that can hold several cubic meters.

This small, sealed cube is unbreakable and has only one key.

The key is a small two-part magical circle drawn with blood. A cube can't have two keys, meaning each cube has only one owner (to prevent theft attempts). It's also impossible for anyone not of the same bloodline to use it (in case the cube's owner dies, their relatives can extract its contents).

The first part is drawn on the cube and the second on the palm. This way, storage, and retrieval are done in the cube.

In case the cube is lost, the second part of the key (the magical circle on the palm) can be used with the second spell, dimensional travel, to retrieve the cube.

Poison Haze is a forbidden, mysterious technique found by someone in hidden ruins. The original Jin killed this person and stole it from him, as it requires the soul's essence to be poisonous, making it the most suitable technique he could have dreamed of.

"Good, he only mastered the first skill. Gaining immunity to poisons will be useful since after our soul exchange, this body no longer has a poisonous soul essence. On the other hand, this book shouldn't see the light of day. There's no need to create another butcher."

Naturally, Jin hated this technique. Poison Haze is a power that doesn't distinguish between friend and foe and can kill dozens in an instant, but it's weak against the strong who have immunity to poisons. The Plague survived all these years for two reasons:

The first is sending his soul through time and eliminating his enemies before they can get to him.

The second is his cruelty and might; he was willing to annihilate an entire city for one person.

Without hesitation, Jin burned the Poison Haze book, destroying the most powerful poison technique known in the world of Artinia.

The problem now was that Jin had lost his distinctive physique and regenerative ability. He had good knowledge of Auris training and their allied races since he had lived among them for a considerable time, but he was entirely ignorant of human techniques, and the original Jin's memories didn't help.

Therefore, he had to start from scratch, but how would he do that?

After a while, more memories began to surface, and he remembered his family's history and childhood days.

"Wow, his mother was an amazing woman. How could she have given birth to such a scoundrel? Of course, he inherited his wretchedness from his father... In the end, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree."

Since I've been given a second chance, I think I should try to feel what it's like to have a family.
