A Confession and a Complication

The school day passed in a blur, and Lisa found herself anxiously waiting for the final bell to ring. Baskhar had asked to meet after school, and she had no idea what to expect.

As the bell rang, Lisa made her way to the back of the school, where Baskhar was already waiting. He looked nervous, shifting his weight from one foot to another.

"You wanted to talk?" Lisa asked, crossing her arms.

Baskhar took a deep breath. "Yeah… Look, I don't know how to say this, but… I like you, Lisa."

Lisa's eyes widened. "What?"

"I like you. A lot." He rubbed the back of his neck, avoiding her gaze. "I've been trying to ignore it, but I can't anymore."

Lisa's heart pounded. She wasn't sure what she had been expecting, but it wasn't this.

"Baskhar…" she started, but he cut her off.

"I know it's sudden. And I know you probably don't feel the same way, but I had to tell you."

Lisa bit her lip. She wasn't sure how she felt. Baskhar was sweet, funny, and kind, but… she couldn't stop thinking about Iris.

Iris liked Baskhar. And now, Lisa was caught in the middle.

"Baskhar, I…" She hesitated. "I don't know what to say."

His face fell slightly, but he nodded. "It's okay. I just… I had to be honest."

Lisa sighed. "There's something you don't know."

Baskhar frowned. "What is it?"

Lisa hesitated before finally saying, "Iris likes you."

His eyes widened. "What?"

"She told me herself. And she really cares about you."

Baskhar looked torn. He ran a hand through his hair, sighing. "I had no idea…"

Lisa looked down. "I don't want to hurt her. And I don't know how I feel yet. This is just… complicated."

Baskhar nodded slowly. "I understand. I won't pressure you. But no matter what, I still like you, Lisa."

Lisa swallowed hard. What was she supposed to do now?
