Ugh…
I groaned louder as the carriage jolted over yet another bump. Seriously, could they not fix these roads?
I shifted uncomfortably in my seat, trying to find a position that didn't feel like I was being thrown around like a sack of potatoes. It wasn't working.
"Was it really necessary for me to come along?" I mumbled, barely keeping my eyes open.
My dear father, the ever-serious Grand Duke, turned his gaze to me. "Since you're the one who knows everything about this disease… yes."
I sighed dramatically.
Of course.
I still couldn't believe we were going to the ex-Baroness' house this early in the morning. I mean, I understood that the matter was serious, but who just shows up at someone's house before the sun has even fully risen?
Not to mention, I had been sleeping so peacefully before this.
