12- Clara has crush on Steven

"If he be an arrogant, I will be a torture to him!" Washing her hands, she cursed him, looking at her madness-omitting face in the mirror.

Clara's phone puzzled with the notification. She was surprised, reading, 'The CEO wants to do the cancelled meeting.'

"Am I dreaming?" Clara wiped her eyes before confirming it as Abby crossed her desk to reach her desk.

"I'm going to the meeting!" Clara announced, collecting the files. She rushed outside as quickly as possible.

Glimpsing her happiness, Abby spilt a smile before sitting at her desk. However, the gossip that flew to her ear from the staff next to her dragged her confused face right away.

"What? Did something get into the CEO today? How did he change his mind to reattend the meeting?"

"Yeah! It seems strange!"

At the meeting hall. After the meeting, Steven looked at Ms. Lucy and advised her in his authoritative tone, "Learn to write without mistakes or use a spelling correction keyboard if you don't want to be fired."

His dictation left everyone confused except Lucy, who nodded guiltily, understanding her mistakes.

He then switched his glance to Clara and apologized, "I'm sorry, Ms. Clara."

She was surprised to respond to him. Despite that, her respect towards him let out her gratitude itself: "It's okay, sir."

He then left the meeting hall, leaving everyone blinking with the bafflement.

"Did the CEO just apologize to her?" One of the staff was astonished while Clara smiled herself, feeling like someone special to Steven since Steven had no history of saying sorry to people.

"Then, this is the proof of the rumours about the CEO's special relationship with Clara," a dim voice reached her ear and earned a blush from her right away.

She rushed outside before anyone noticed, but she couldn't save that from Lucy, who was glaring at her with raging envy.

Clara's phone was puzzled by the notification and stopped her from stepping inside the design team's office.

Mr. Steven: How about having lunch together? I want to apologize properly.'

A broad smile peeked from her lips. She typed real quick, "Sure!" Then she went back enthusiastically without even coming inside the office.

"It's lunchtime! Whoever wants to join?" A staff sounded joyfully shutting down the computer.

"Me!"

"Me!"

"Me!"

Everyone raised their hands, putting on their shoes.

Abby hesitated for a minute as her longing eyes observed their dazzling bonds between each other.

"Want to join us?" The woman next to her offered an invite.

"Yes!" She beamed with innocence, which was rare to see by Steven.

Her elegance and cuteness that splashed just now triggered jealousy from that woman instantly. However, she adored her personally.

"You look cute!" She complimented her.

Abby grinned, "Thank you."

Then they stood up to leave for the lunch.

Just when they stepped out of the elevator on the ground floor, Clara accidentally got a glimpse of Steven heading outside with Clara.

"Are they going for lunch?" Abby flashed perplexity and stopped following collagenous.

The woman coming behind her whispered, "They are in a secret relationship."

Abby startled and sighed before throwing suspiciously, "Secret relationship?"

"I can see jealousy in your eyes," that woman pointed out Abby's eyes, which were looking at Steven's car up until it disappeared into her sight.

"Jealousy?" Abby scoffed and declared before heading towards the exit, "He's not even my ideal type though."

"Ooo...." That woman trailed teasingly as she noticed Abby refusing to admit the possessiveness.

At the fancy restaurant, Steven sat with his legs crossed as Clara sat straight opposite him, offering a smile.

After the food came, Steven built a conversation since Clara added tranquillity to the empty restaurant: "I'm sorry. I should've asked you the reason at first."

"It's okay," she forgave him and asked his permission, noticing he hadn't touched his food yet. "May we start to eat now?"

"Oh, sure! Go on." Said Steven. He chuckled softly, witnessing her innocence just when he was about to take a first bite.

At the crowded restaurant, Abby was enjoying her lunch with colleagues.

"I'm sure! That was Ms. Clara." Sunny, who is always wearing too much makeup, assured. She is the one who asked Abby to join them.

"What are you talking about?" James, who has short hair, asked.

"The CEO's marriage!. The photo that roamed the social media that day."

"Yes! Yes! It must be Ms.Clara." Another staff agreed.

Abby kept quiet, tasted her food, and heard their chitchat.

"He reattended the meeting because this time the person who made the mistake was Clara. No man like him will forgive anyone easily unless it's their woman."

"So our CEO has an affair with Ms. Clara?" Abby joined the conversation, finding it interesting.

"Yes!" Sunny asserted.

"Just worry about yourself!" The middle-aged man, Luke, sounded.

Everyone shuttered.

Sunny whispered in Abby's ear, giggling, "He has been trying Ms. Clara one-sidedly for five years. For her, she is still an invisible man."

Both grinned quietly, covering their faces, and turning aside.

"I can hear you girls!" Luke punched the spoon on the table, irritated.

Both Abby and Sunny stopped grinning folding their lips inwardly.
