The town was riled up, the fight that happened between Aurelia's squad and the fallen duo was not exactly the epitome of stealth.
Cedric would say he was disappointed, but in the grand scheme of things it did not matter.
All of these demons will die anyway. Why would he care that the assassination was more flashy than anticipated?
He needed to meet up with Aurelia, and then open the gates for the human army to march in.
To watch an army of Infidels fight on his side. "Who would have thought I would ever see the day."
Cedric wanted to laugh, but it was not time for it just yet.
These humans might have been infidels but they were only infidels due to demonic corruption.
Unlike the ones he slaughtered in his previous life, these unwitting infidels were innocent in the eyes of God.
If they still refused to embrace the light of God in their lives after the demonic threat had ended, then they too would be his enemies.
While his wish was to observe humans dealing with the demon civilians and a few remaining small fries, it wasn't something he would regret missing.
What mattered more was what Aurelia and her Angel squad did. They were able to cripple both champions, leaving them as easy targets for integration.
Not only that, she was able to get rid of the 'Sin of Pride', He knew how difficult that would be, but what made her feat even more impressive was that she was able to both get rid of the most evil and persistent of sins and replace it with virtue of humility.
Cedric didn't know how, but he was indeed impressed. He had gravely misjudged the young girl, she was most certainly capable of following one true faith as long as she had guidance. Guidance that this world lacks.
"I will teach you, princess. You will learn about the glory of God!" He muttered softly as he walked out of the tower.
Archangel and Aurelia would guard the pair of fallen angels while he arrived.
'How fortunate it is that they are 'husband and wife', a mockery of human relationship. Perhaps if they emulated emotions like real humans they would be susceptible to threats concerning their loved ones.' Cedric grinned, his expression hidden behind the helmet.
Torturing and threatening a demon would be a virtuous act in the eyes of God, after all, they were not ones made in His image, and what's worse fallen were the traitors of God's will.
'Unforgivable existence,' his most holy mission was to send them to hell so that they may be punished and cleansed.
Cedric made his way past the crowded streets, panic clearly setting in as the populace saw the fight in the Western Tower.
'Run, demons, run... Oh how it feels to fear humanity?' Cedric mocked the demons in his mind.
If some escape to spread the discord between demons, while it is not ideal to let demons live for more than it takes Cedric to draw a sword it was necessary to seed chaos and discord in demon ranks.
For that he would allow these civilians to escape, alas only temporarily.
While at least 90% will die by the human army, the remaining 10% that he so graciously would let escape would bring news of Humanity fighting back against their tyranny of darkness.
While he wished to make an excuse to make sure 99% were dead, it would be counterproductive, it hurt his heart to let them live for long but a decent number must survive for their rumors to be believed.
'I guess I must leave the rest at the discretion of the Human army, while Grahm was an infidel he would surely know the right course of action.' His steps became faster and faster before reaching what looked like the site of the battle.
"I see, Aurelia and Archangels fought here..." Cedric muttered as he saw corpses of slum residents, and a crushed minotaur corpse.
'Perhaps they were caught in an ambush.' Cedric nodded as he inspected the site of the battle.
It did not matter; more demons dead was always a good thing. He turned toward the western tower, making his way very quickly.
Within seconds, he arrived at the foot of the tower. Smoke rose from the top, clearly indicating that fire had been used.
"This much smoke would spread panic in any situation..." Cedric looked the tower up and down before crushing the front door with his foot.
The entire thing was demolished and burned, while it was mostly made of stone the tower had many flammable decorations, the flooring was made of pine wood, and what else to say but that it looked like a cozy noble home.
"It did look like a noble abode before, but now it's all ruined." Cedric looked around as he spoke to himself.
Unlike Tormentor's tower, this one was made to be a home for Rayn and Lucious and not an arena.
He made his way up the stairs, toward the top room where Aurelia and Archangel were.
"I see you made an open sky renovation..." Cedric looked up while crossing his arms, the roof was completely gone.
"O [Creator], Fallen are unconscious and ready for you," Archangel spoke, its voice as robotic as ever.
Aurelia did not even say anything, she was embarrassed of her clothing, after all she looked like some orphan beggar as her armor was completely gone.
With a glance, Cedric saw her shyly averting her gaze from him before approaching Aurelia.
"You did good, Honestly I am impressed, I misjudged you. Aurelia." His words contained no hidden meaning, they were words of pure praise. Words of praise that made Aurelia blush and squirm.
"I... Thank you si.. No, thank you, Cedric!" She cut her words before finally uttering words of thanks.
"Once I have extracted the information from these two, I promise to give you a chance to learn about true faith, do you accept?" Cedric asked her in a soft tone.
"How... Could I ever refuse... Yes please teach me everything!" Aurelia spoke with excitement, her eyes avoiding eye contact like a plague.
'I really misjudged poor girl... She has the potential to become a true believer!' Cedric was incredibly happy, first the group of soldiers he gifted the Bibles to, and now a woman he thought too sinful to even guide.
How foolish he was, this was a world corrupted by demons after all, people who would embrace God still existed despite the influence of demons.
"Now time to learn more about this Iguva..." Cedric turned his back towards Aurelia, despite her displeasure of him doing so.
