End of Vitpacar

Grahm couldn't believe it, Aurelia and Cedric were successful, and his army could see smoke in the distance.

At the beginning he was doubtful, but Cedric was certainly a force to be reckoned with.

He knew Cedric's power was vast as he shattered the entire army, but to dismantle fortress defenses so effortlessly, it was surreal.

It seemed fortune had smiled upon him and Aurelia.

If fortune would be kind and continued to favor him then Aurelia would have a chance to ascend to the throne, especially with her new military achievement.

The legion would arrive in mere minutes, and they would finally make progress against the demi-human empire.

For years now what remained of human kingdoms struggled against what seemed to be an unstoppable tide.

But now it seemed to turn in their favor finally.

His legion was supposed to conquer Vitpacar and finally establish a foothold inside the demi-human territory, and yet when a clash of blade and spell happened they were at the verge of breaking.

They would have died, if a hero hadn't dropped in the middle of the Demi-human army, and single-handedly decimated them.

It didn't make sense to send only one legion to fight, after all, demi-humans had individuals with enough power to crush a thousand men at once.

And what's worse they appointed an Inexperienced woman of all things to act as supreme commander.

'There is definitely foul play in the background.' He was sure of it, especially with the discovery that demi-human spies are capable of illusion.

As the vanguard approached the gate they saw Cedric, the hero who was to be praised for making the impossible possible.

Cedric was a strange man, he had a tendency to go into meditation at most awkward times, but it was true that powerful always had their quirks.

"Not my place to judge the man, especially after everything he had done," Grahm muttered quietly enough for others to not hear him.

"Halt!" Grahm ordered the Vanguard to stop, with a single gesture he commanded two soldiers to accompany him.

"Lord Cedric, It is good to see you," Grahm spoke with respect.

Despite his greetings, Cedric did not react.

He was in his meditation state, it took a solid minute before Cedric lifted up his head.

"Ah, General Grahm. Major threats are eliminated and Aurelia is dealing with any remaining combatants." Cedric rose to his feet, before he gripped his blade and lifted it from the ground.

"Aurelia is alone!?" Grham questioned with clear panic.

"Yes, but do not worry 3 Archangels are guarding her. And I can say she is stronger than she looks." Cedric spoke casually, ignoring the clear panic Grahm was experiencing.

"Go ahead general, Town is yours, all you have to do is clean up some civilians and any remaining fight-capable demons that Aurelia missed." Cedric continued speaking with a distinct coldness in his voice when mentioning demons.

"Wait... are you saying that there is virtually no resistance?" Grahm spoke with confusion.

"Little to none, go now," Cedric spoke before he disappeared once again, leaving only a cloud of dust.

Grahm exhaled loudly as he watched the spot where Cedric was, just the fact that he could disappear like this meant he was immensely powerful.

"You heard the hero, you two return and order the legion to march forward. Let us strike back at demi human empire!" Grahm shouted his order, making both of his escorts obey as they rode back to the rest of the vanguard.

While he trusted Cedric that there were not many combat-capable demi-humans left, it did not alleviate his fears. After all what an insanely powerful hero considers a combat-capable individual is probably on a whole different level than what an ordinary human like Grahm would consider combat-capable.

It took some time but the Vanguard reached the gates, with an order the Vanguard charged into the city.

Grahm didn't care what his soldiers did to these demi-humans but Kingdom of Valar lacked workers due to constant skirmishes against demi-humans, capturing demi-human slaves would help Valas to recover at long last.

They were more powerful, they were faster, stronger, and overall physically better than human workers.

He made sure to tell his men to not kill those that seemed to be capable of work.

His men swarmed the streets, rounding up panicking demi-humans, killing many of them and capturing any that looked physically able.

The elderly were killed, young were captured.

In the corner of his eyes, he saw some of his men dragging a young harpy woman into one of the houses and from the screams he did not wish to know what they were doing to her.

If this wasn't a war he would feel bad, but this was the nature of war and soldiers needed a way to relieve themselves, if that relief came from abusing a harpy that would be killed afterward no matter what it did not matter to him, as long as the workforce was captured.

"Make sure to kill any women you use, I do not want them to live with the trauma even if they are our enemy! Understood!?" He shouted to his second in command, who only saluted and rushed out.

Despite him saying that this was war it did not make a foul taste in his mouth after seeing his men acting so barbarically. They were supposed to be one of the best-trained troops in Valar.

He would surely need to discipline them after this, but he would not stop it, they had every right to take out their anger against anyone belonging to the Demi-Human empire.

"Leave buildings intact! Human settlers will arrive within 7 days!" Grahm shouted his orders before walking deeper into the town, he did not wish the town to burn needlessly.

Cedric was not lying, not a single demi-human capable of fighting remained to oppose them, he was able to freely walk through the city, demi-humans trying to hide and run before being rounded up and slaughtered.

"Make sure to let some of them escape!" Grahm shouted another order, it would be good to spread panic in what seemed to be an unshakeable demi-human empire.

Screams of slaughter, moans of abuse. He had heard it many times before, but it was the first time the wrath was turned towards the common enemy of man.
