Army of Light

It took him until midnight but he was able to impart the basics of the holy teachings to Aurelia, the girl was a good student, she intently listened despite her lust making her attempt flirty dialogue.

It was truly refreshing to teach a new believer in the way of Christ. However, he still had a lot to talk about; alas, Aurelia had fallen asleep.

While she did beg Cedric to accompany her he wouldn't indulge sin of lust, and after all, Cedric still wanted to start with the summoning.

'I haven't met someone this eager to learn in a long while...' Cedric couldn't resist but smile, perhaps she would be a worthy successor, someone who would carry God's Will after he had departed for the pearly gates.

However, she had a long path ahead of her. She would need to integrate the lessons of Christianity into her very being and live as a proper Christian and servant of God.

Today was merely a first lesson of many, he would not rest until Aurelia was a proper Paladin of God.

Her patron Chrunus most likely wouldn't appreciate his efforts, but the pagan god's demonic influence would be extinguished whether he liked it or not.

'Once that so-called pretender of a god shows his face, he too shall know the light of true God.'

Alas, that could wait, he had no idea where to even search for those so-called gods, until now only indication of their existence came from [God's Eye], he knew nothing more about them nor their power.

Cedric was sure that the power granted by God would dwarf anything that mere pagan "gods" would ever be able to field, however, he couldn't underestimate them lest he fail the mission assigned to him by God.

In the dark of night, he made his way just outside the gates of Vitpacar, the former nest of demons that now belonged to rightful tenants of the world.

He wasn't surprised that he was able to see in the dark so well, after all with everything God had given him it made sense that he also was able to pursue enemies in the darkness.

'No, I cannot think like this!' Cedric dismissed his thoughts, he was a mere servant of the Lord's will, if he started thinking he deserved the blessings it would be heresy, after all even he was only a sinful human, only Christ was pure.

"Forgive me Lord, my impure mind wandered where it should not. Forgive this mere servant of your will. Amen" Cedric recited a short prayer.

The rustle of leaves, and singing of wind, it was truly beautiful. All of God's creations are beautiful, and to think traitors would seek to defile them.

"Even more of a reason to not dally, demons needed to be exterminated." Cedric clenched his fist as he made his way through the forest.

Nature was after all God's creation, it was created for humanity, and yet demons dared use its resources to build their forces in this world.

Cedric kept getting reminded over and over again of just how important his mission was.

Failure was not an option.

He slowly made his way through the dense woods, arriving at a large clearing.

'This should be enough space.' Cedric thought as he gripped his blade, and with a swift motion, he stabbed it into the ground.

Cedric was curious about Equilibrium, what quality was it? Why did it seem so much more powerful than it was in his old world?

[God's Eye], He activated his skill towards his blade, to say he was astonished would be an understatement.

<< Item: Piece of Heaven Given Form, Quality: Divine, Enchantment: Holy, Affinity: Holy, Name: Equilibrium, Creator: God.>>

It was not merely Damascus steel greatsword that accompanied him his entire life, no the weapon too was granted a blessing by God.

No even more than that, he wielded a piece of heaven itself, he had no reason to doubt [God's Eye], and all he could do was to thank God.

"Another blessing." He knew he was not worthy, and yet God kept blessing him.

Was he truly that special, even if he didn't think so, who was he to question the Lord's will?

'I must lead by example, Lord had put a burden on me that I must carry.' He clasped his hands together as he prayed.

"Lord, I pray that you keep guiding my hand, I swear that I shall exterminate those who had betrayed your will, O Lord of Lords, I pray that you may show your grace towards the foolish humanity that was lead astray by Pagan pretenders and demonic deceivers. Amen" As he finished his prayer his gaze focused on the empty field before him.

He had a long night ahead of him, he wanted to create at least a regiment of 1000 Guardians and 20 Archangels as a means to protect Vitpacar, however, Cedric knew that this would take a long time, and despite his blessings, he would need to summon them one by one.

'My goal of 2 regiments should be achievable by the time Humans return to Valar.' Cedric mused as he cast [Create Angelic Construct].

While the angels formed inside the circle he attempted to cast the skill once again, alas nothing happened. It seemed that this was one of the limitations of his blessing.

First, he summoned Archangels, the blinding light flashing as more and more pure Archangels stood in attention.

Archangels were summoned quickly, but to summon 1000 Guardians would take an entire night and then some.

For a moment he thought about not going through with his plan, but to abandon God's mission for his own selfishness was heresy.

His resolve renewed Cedric tirelessly continued to summon Guardians, until the dawn.

What once was a large empty field was covered by an army of Silver and God's Light.

An army that would be an instrument of God's wrath against any demon that dares approach what belongs to humanity.
