Departure

It was about time to head back to Valar, despite the initial panic of seeing a horde of Angels flood into the town, the panic of the human army had died down as the Angels merely stood as guards.

However, the panic that spread within the enslaved demi-human population was not dying down at all, from their perspective all they saw was the army of white-winged Harpies that worked for Humans.

Initially, they thought they were about to get rescued, and yet White Wings did not even strike down a single human, on the contrary, they stood beside them like brothers in arms.

Another hit to their will had been struck as they saw this.

A hope dashed away like it was nothing. It would most certainly make the demi-humans easier to train.

The slaves were all rounded up and sent forward, while Aurelia's escort would depart soon after.

This conquest would bring immense honor to the entirety of the legion, every member would be considered a hero, despite the punishment that would befall some soldiers.

Aurelia spent all of her free time carefully studying the Bible, her mind had been broadened by its teachings, and yet she knew precious little, which gave her ideal excuse to stick to Cedric.

"I still don't quite get it, Cedric. If Jesus is the God then why did he sacrifice himself?" Aurelia kept asking Cedric questions related to faith, much to Cedric's delight.

While his mood was soured from having to deal with Dominion's behavior it was improved as Aurelia rushed to him, asking him so many questions that he was very glad to answer.

"In the beginning, humanity had to bring sacrifices to attempt and atone for their sin, however, the sin was too heavy, and no sacrifice was enough," Cedric spoke with joy.

Aurelia nodded as Cedric began speaking.

"As you noticed yourself, God is represented by the trinity, Son, Father, and Holy Spirit. So Father sent his Son down onto the earth, he had lived a sinless life that no human would ever be able to do. He had paid for the sins of Humanity." Cedric spoke with reverence.

"But why would God sacrifice himself for Humanity?" Aurelia was clearly even more confused as Cedric explained.

Both of them entered an ornate Carriage that would transport them to Valar and with a snap of a whip horses pulled forward.

"Because God is kind, despite the sin of humanity he still forgave us. He paid back the debt that humanity owed by sacrificing himself."

Aurelia nodded, the God Cedric followed was truly kind and merciful. And if a great man like Cedric followed him perhaps she should follow such a deity too.

"Am I able to become a Christian?" Aurelia asked innocently, Cedric let out a hearty laugh, Aurelia had never seen the man laugh so openly.

It took a moment, Aurelia was incredibly anxious about the response but it was dashed away as Cedric spoke again, "Anyone can embrace Christ, as long as you believe in God you may be blessed and your sins may be forgiven."

'He had never shown so much happiness when interacting with me...' It made sense, he was a man of God and so she couldn't stand in his way.

While Aurelia wanted to test the limits and attempt seduction again, she knew it wouldn't work. Her best way of getting closer was embracing his faith.

And it wasn't that she only wanted to become Christian to have a chance to marry Cedric, even though it was a major factor.

God that Cedric worshipped was both Kind and generous, proven by the amount of power he granted to his Chosen. Chrunus never stood by her side when she needed him, despite her worship her prayers were always answered with silence.

She had heard other gods picked their chosen but this was the first time she was in the presence of one, not only that she also didn't believe there was a single chosen more powerful than Cedric.

After all, if A chosen god was this powerful, then demi-humans never would have stood a chance.

"Cedric, I would like to become a Christian officially!" Aurelia exclaimed, what better chance to get to know her beloved hero than to follow his path?

Those words sang to Cedric's ears, He repeated to himself how foolish he was to dismiss Aurelia at the very first meeting, after all, it only took a couple of days for her to see the light of Christ.

Not only did he have her word but God's voice had confirmed it, he needed not look for deceit when God himself had decreed her a Christian.

She was the first native soldier of God in this world.

Unfortunately, her sins were still present, but Cedric would never blame a Christian for being sinful, after all, it was the nature of humanity, but to atone for the sin by faith in God was where the essence of faith lay.

Perhaps it was a good time, Aurelia deserved to see what lay beneath the helmet, she was a Christian, first of many.

"I would like to grant you a title, as a first native believer of true faith, I grant you a title of Aurelia, The First Star!" Cedric smiled warmly as he granted Princess a new title.

With those words, he slowly placed his hands on his helmet and after a mere moment, he lifted it, to reveal the true face of Aurelia's beloved hero.

Aurelia looked like her jaw would drop as Cedric gripped his helmet, and with a pull, he revealed his face to the Princess.

Aurelia looked like a teenager, her cheeks were tomato red as she couldn't maintain eye contact.

"Sorry Sir Cedric, I just did not expect this!" Aurelia spoke with excitement.

"Oh? Does my face displease you?" Cedric had to question her, perhaps by her standard he was subpar in mortal appearance, but that did not matter anyway as all would be perfect in the Eternal Kingdom of God.

"No... the opposite. Please allow me to call you Daddy!" Aurelia exclaimed, making Cedric choke on the air.

'WHAT IS WITH THESE WOMEN?!' Cedric screamed in his mind, first Dominion and now Aurelia, the First star of Christianity. At least he could forgive Aurelia for her outbursts as she was afflicted by lust, however Dominion had no such excuse.

"No, Aurelia. You will need to learn how to behave like a servant of God." Cedric retorted to her question.
