The summoner cheeks moved seeing Jonathan had been kicked away. It was time for his baby to eat.
The rat covered the distance and was about to open its mouth when Greyson opened his eyes.
"D ranked: Longsword cut."
"Maximum Level: level 10!"
Greyson swung his longsword to the rat and it completely halves into two.
The motion stunned the Summoner to the bone. He couldn't believe Greyson was able to defeat his C ranked monster with a mere D ranked skill.
His expression darkened more and he moved his hands to point at the corpse of the rat.
'It's a good thing I can reshape it back to normal and even make it stronger. Unlike the lower variants, I would have to perform the skill again.'
The summoner wanted to voice out when Jonathan covered his front view.
"Not so fast, big guy!"
Jonathan fully covered the Summoner front view.
The motion stunned the Summoner to the bone. Before he could think of doing anything, Jonathan sent a massive blow to his chest region.
Bang!
The punch was loud but it only sent the summoner staggering a few steps backwards.
"Fool!"
The summoner sounded angrily as he gained his balance.
"You think your little punches would be able to affect me. You must be joking!"
He quickly moved his hands to Jonathan.
"I will show you what a stage 4 Summoner can do."
He wanted to snap his fingers when Jonathan suddenly appeared inches away from him. Jonathan's movement stunned him to the bone.
'How could he be this fast!'
Jonathan whispered to the Summoner.
"No. I didn't think that would be able to stop you, but I BELIEVE THIS WILL!"
Jonathan fist started glowing and it left the summoner horrified.
'Impossible!'
Before he could fathom what he was seeing, Jonathan slammed him on his stomach.
"E ranked: Glowing Burst Fist!"
The impact smashed the Summoner away. He collapsed on the ground and kept rolling for some few seconds before he finally came to a halt.
'Bastard!!!!'
The Summoner sounded in his mind as he tried to stand back to his feet but he fell on his knees and coughed out blood.
A puzzled expression appeared on his face.
'How could an E ranked skill be this powerful?'
There was no way an E ranked skill would be powerful enough to send the Summoner flying, and even caused this so much damage. The summoner couldn't grasp the whole situation. The more he thought about it, the more puzzled he was.
'Who the hell is this brat!!!!!'
He couldn't help but scream in his mind now.
He wanted to stand up to his feet again when Jonathan appeared close to him.
Shit!
Jonathan wanted to move his fist again when Greyson appeared behind the Summoner and slammed him hard at the back of his head.
"We need him alive."
Greyson said as the Summoner fell unconscious on the floor. The summoning ability might be the strongest ability in the world, but a summoner had the weakest body defense. Their body was nowhere as tough as the martial artist ability users, and no way near the strongest body defense ability users, the mages.
Jonathan nodded to Greyson's words. Truly they needed the Summoner. He could think of several things they could ask the Summoner when he wakes up, the first would be how he got into Dreamway, despite the tight security on the border.
Greyson swung his longsword twice and placed it on his shoulder. His attention moved to the dead soldiers putting on Dreamway military uniform. He couldn't believe none of the ten men squad he took survived, except Jonathan.
He believed they had a hard time dealing with the five martial arts practitioners. If only he was able to finish the Summoner once, this wouldn't have happened. He would've been able to save some of them.
Seeing Greyson was looking at the soldiers on the floor, Jonathan couldn't help but voice out.
"They were all good soldiers. They fought and gave their last breath for their country."
He faced Greyson and continued.
"I was lucky they had my back. So lucky."
Greyson took a deep breath and faced the Summoner back. He wondered how Jonathan was able to punch the summoner so hard that the Summoner ended up coughing blood.
He wanted to say something but he wasn't sure of the facts.
"Carry him on your shoulders, we have to take him back to the base before he wakes up."
Although Summoners had the weakest body, some of them were so powerful that they could go toe to toe with powerful mages, and swordsmanship ability users without needing to summon anything.
A summoner should never be underestimated, even a dead one.
The sentence might seem all hype but it was true.
Jonathan carried the Summoner on his shoulder like Greyson had instructed. Greyson faced the base direction, but Jonathan's eyes were somewhere else.
"What about the other rats causing havoc in the rest places? Do you think team A would be able to handle them."
Greyson was surprised Jonathan was thinking about his comrades. Others would be thinking of jumping out the battlefield the moment they entered, but Jonathan wanted more.
He responded without looking at Jonathan.
"I believe team A would be able to handle the task, otherwise I wouldn't have split team in the first place, and since we have knocked down the Summoner, all his summons would instantly vanish."
Jonathan's eyebrows raised a little when he heard that. He was wondering why Greyson chose to attack the summoner, leaving the first objective to the inexperienced fighters. It was because if they stopped the Summoner all the summoner's previous unleashed skill would become inactive.
Greyson faced Jonathan and continued.
"You ought to know this. This makes me wonder if you even attended school before joining the military."
Jonathan smiles at Greyson.
"I am a raw talent, Sir! Never been good at reading books."
Greyson was surprised when Jonathan response.
"Say who that have been graduating each of his classes with the best results ever recorded."
Jonathan couldn't help but laugh silently. It seemed he was recognized as a scholar here as well, however his record wasn't the best ever in the country, he simply took the first position in all of his classes.
Not wanting to suffer, he never wanted to become a military personnel. The ongoing war was what fueled his desire to join the military, now he was standing firmly on the ground with the fate of his country in his hands.
