CHAPTER 18

Seeing Chole was smiling brightly as she showed him the wedding ring, Jonathan lost control of himself. He couldn't think of pretending anymore, not after everything Chole had done to him already.

The pain was too much for Jonathan, and all the things chole said to him when he caught her cheating came rushing in at once, making it more unbearable for Jonathan to continue with the flow he had in mind.

Jonathan subconsciously squeezed his hand, his emotions took control of him and he walked angrily to Chole.

Seeing Jonathan was coming closer Chole continued with a smile.

"Lets just pretend that I didn't see anything. You can still do it at the perfect timing in your head. It's not like I am going anywhere."

Chole extended the box to Jonathan with a big smile on her face. She wanted to continue when Jonathan snatched the box from her hands. The pain of Jonathan's forceful movement caused Chole's face to twitch a little, before she could understand what was going on, Jonathan smashed the box to the ground.

CLANG!

The sound resounded loudly in Chole head and she felt it in her heart.

"What is wrong with you!"

Chole voiced out angrily seeing the ring was broken by the smash Jonathan gave it.

She glared at Jonathan with her breathing vibrating due to the anger that was swirling inside her.

Jonathan's gaze wasn't different from Chole's gaze. He pointed at the ring and raised his voice at Chole.

"You think I don't know what you are planning to use the ring for, to cover up your deeds with Mason!

You think I don't know that you have been sleeping around with him all the time that I was am away!"

Jonathan tried to control his voice to sound normal, not wanting Chole to see that this was hurting him, but he couldn't. The more he thought about it, the angrier he became.

Chole was frightened to the bone when she heard Jonathan's words. She couldn't believe Jonathan knew her affairs with Mason.

HOW!!

Chole stammered as she broke down in tears.

"No... No. That is not true..I will never do such a thing, what will I want to do with our neighbor. He only comes around to help with the house chores when you are not around.

Who told you this! Why would I want anything to do with Mason?"

Chole moved her shaking hands to touch Jonathan on the face.

"Baby, I love you. I will never do such..."

Her hand was about to reach Jonathan's face when Jonathan slapped her hand away, causing her eyes to widen in shock.

"Stop lying! I already know!"

Jonathan's eyes were deadly as he glared at Chole, her attitude was irritating him badly that he felt like hitting her in the face already. The only thing that was stopping him from doing that was because they were in the military base, not that he was a responsible man.

Seeing the flames in Jonathan's eyes, Chole could tell that Jonathan already knew, not that somebody told him. Seeing that was the case, Chole burst into tears, forcing more liquid out of her eyes.

"I am sorry, Jonathan. I am truly sorry. When your father was sick and you were looking for money to pay for his surgeries. I thought I should help you out, so I went to Mason and he forcefully took advantage of me."

Chole looked straight into Jonathan's deadly eyes with her watering eyes.

"He recorded it and threatened that he would release it to everyone if I don't continue to.. to... To sleep with him."

Chole heart pounded heavily after saying those words. She didn't want to lose Jonathan. Jonathan would do anything for her, he would give her his last dollar if she asked him, losing somebody like that would be a big loss to her.

She had already thought of what she would be using the money Jonathan promised her monthly, if she was to lose Jonathan the money would be gone as well, and all the future money she could get from Jonathan.

Chole didn't want to give that away. It was just too much for her.

She continued with her tearful voice.

"I really wanted to tell you.. but..."

"You killed my father."

Jonathan simply cut Chole off with those few words. Chole heart seized at that moment. Jonathan's eyes were red now but he stayed calm on the spot.

"You didn't want me to waste that much money on him, when I could spent it on you and your family, so you killed him. You strangle him with a pillow and claim he didn't wake up when you came to check on him in the morning."

Chole eyes widened more in shock. Nobody knew that. Nobody was there. She had no idea where Jonathan was getting this from.

It felt so unreal to Chole and she was frozen by the shock.

After a long while of silence, Chole subconsciously stepped backwards.

"No oo. I didn't.. I didn't do that. I will never do such a thing."

She stammered as she subconsciously stepped backwards. Jonathan didn't continue after that because he was waiting for an apology for Chole, but he forgot who she was once again. He could say all these things without breaking down because he had already experienced the pain, not that he was a real man.

A real man never cries, he sure cried a lot when he discovered this in his past world.

Chole gained control of herself and sounded more calmly than before.

"Who told you all these things, where are all these coming from!

How could I be such a monster?"

She stepped closer to Jonathan and wanted to say something but Jonathan turned away, giving her his back. He stopped and voiced out calmly.

"I don't want to see you in my house when I come back. Take your family and leave my house immediately, otherwise I will kill all of you."

Chole was stupefied. Her entire body vibrated in fear.

Was this the end for her.

'Jonathan can't be serious!'

"You can't... "

Jonathan cuts Chole off again. He turned to face her halfway before voicing out.

"Many people get murdered during wartime without anyone noticing the cause of their death.

The enemy always takes the blame."
