Henry glanced around nervously, making sure no one else was within earshot. Finally, after a long pause, he sighed in resignation.
"Fine," he said quietly. "There's been… rumors."
Elias tilted his head. "What kind of rumors?"
Henry rubbed the back of his neck, clearly uncomfortable. "People say the palace is cursed."
Elias's eyes narrowed. "Cursed?"
Henry nodded reluctantly. "Yeah. It started a few months ago. Weird things keep happening—guards tripping over nothing, people getting lost in hallways they've walked a thousand times, equipment going missing and then showing up in strange places.
There've been accidents too. Some guards have fallen into the ponds or fountains, even though they swear they weren't near the water."
Elias listened intently, his unease growing with each word. This isn't a curse. It's the work of vengeful ghosts.
"Has anyone been hurt?" Elias asked.
