"Radulf, slow down. My feet are hurting," Zenna protested as they were descending the stairs in a haste. He stopped upon hearing her plea and turned to look at her.
"Let me talk to Gregor once. He is in trouble, I feel," Zenna said concernedly.
Radulf circled one hand around her back, and the other moved behind her legs. He lifted Zenna in his arms and began descending the stairs.
"Radulf, did you not hear me? I need to talk to Gregor," Zenna said again. To grab his attention, she even hit his shoulder with her fist, but he didn't stop until they were at the bottom of the stairs. The carriage arrived for them and Radulf made sure Zenna would get in first. He sat down across from her while the coachman locked the door from outside.
Their entire journey home went in silence as Zenna was upset with him and chose not to speak with him. As soon as they reached the mansion, Zenna rushed inside first, not caring if Radulf would follow her or not.
