Eason invited me to dinner at a restaurant, calling me "bro" this and "bro" that.

But deep down, I knew he just wanted to milk me for cash.

"Bro, did my sister mention to you that I need to switch cars?"

Eason cut straight to the chase, not beating around the bush anymore.

"Yeah, but I don't have much money on hand lately."

Eason's previously beaming face immediately turned sour.

"Bro, I'm just asking to borrow. I'll pay it back."

"I'm your wife's only brother."

I took a leisurely sip of coffee, slightly furrowing my brow.

"It's not that I don't want to lend it to you. Your sister won't let me."

"Your sister says you're a good-for-nothing."

"She says lending you money is like throwing it down the drain, and you'll end up sick sooner or later."

As soon as the words left my mouth, Eason's eyes turned blood-red, his fists clenched tight.

"Bro, you're kidding me, right? My sister would never say that about me."

I let out a sigh and lightly tapped my mouth.
