On the hospital bed, Scarlett lay with her eyes tightly shut, her face pale and drawn.

Who could have imagined that such a delicate face concealed such an ugly heart beneath?

"Honey, where am I?"

Scarlett suddenly opened her eyes, staring at me innocently.

"The hospital. Don't you remember?"

Scarlett shook her head, looking confused. It seemed the concussion had caused her to lose her memory.

"Faye hit you on the head with a brick."

"Why did she hit me?"

Scarlett's concussion must have been severe if she couldn't even remember that.

I furrowed my brow. "She found you naked in a tent with her father."

Scarlett, who was about to speak, suddenly closed her mouth again.

A few minutes later, I could see in her eyes that she remembered.

Her face grew even paler than before, her hands clutching the blanket tightly.

Her voice trembled, "Honey, you said you'd believe me one hundred percent."

I held back a laugh. After what she'd done, how could I possibly believe her?
