"Scarlett, we live in a society governed by law now."
"Since you were forced, let's report this to the police."
I pulled out my phone and started dialing.
"Honey, please don't call the police."
Scarlett jumped up from the hospital bed in a panic, trying to snatch my phone away.
"Scarlett, you need to be brave and speak up."
Scarlett shook her head frantically. "Honey, I don't want this to become a big deal."
"If people find out, how could I ever show my face in public again?"
"What about Faye hitting you, then?"
She waved her hand dismissively. "Let's forget about that too. It's like being bitten by a dog."

I nodded and started scrolling through short videos on my phone.
As expected, the incident between Scarlett and Uncle Winchester had indeed been posted online.
I held the phone up to Scarlett's face.
"Scarlett, take a look at this."
