They could only chalk it up to bad luck and pay out of pocket.

I bought a new house and moved out of there.

On moving day, it happened to be when Faye and her daughter were discharged from the hospital.

We awkwardly ran into each other at the building entrance.

"If Scarlett can't pay, you should be responsible for the debt."

I sighed, "Don't you know we've been divorced for a while now?"

She immediately blocked my path.

"Once married, always connected. Since she can't pay, it's on you."

This woman was being unreasonable. Talking to her was a waste of time.

"She and I have no relationship whatsoever now."

"Don't talk to me about her affairs."
