That was also the last time I saw Faye and her father.

Later I learned that the father and daughter had a falling out.

They trashed the house, and Uncle Winchester was so angry he had a stroke and ended up in the hospital.

This stroke left him completely paralyzed, unable to get out of bed.

Faye never visited him in the hospital, and their relationship was permanently severed.

What shocked me even more was that my former Eason and Faye ended up together.

I ran into my ex-Eason while shopping at the mall.

He walked with an arrogant swagger, his chin held high.

"Well if it isn't my former Eason? Shopping all alone?"

His words dripped with mockery, but I felt nothing.

"Cat got your tongue?"

He raised an eyebrow, "Forgot to tell you, your ex-wife jumped to her death yesterday."

I furrowed my brow, genuinely surprised by this news.

My Eason continued nonchalantly, "Better off dead anyway, saves me from being burdened with dead weight."
