Chapter 46: Problem After Problem

Hours passed by quickly with the trio, well, more like a duo at this rate. While Reinhart and Selina were off in their own world, Michael was alone, taking in the sights. 

Ah, nothing beats Yuri. He thinks to himself. In all honesty, he was really glad Selina found someone she could be so comfortable with in this crazy world. It didn't matter to him that he was practically sidelined, wait no, it did, but he'll let it slide for now.

Michael started thinking about his own life. He could choose one of the three male leads. Allister was 100% his type, but he didn't know much about him, nor did he know how to meet him again, preferably without Selina being involved. Noah's a really chill guy, but he was a bit of an enigma. Troye seems to have at least some affection for him despite them just meeting…but he was trashy as hell. 

Sigh, why must love be so difficult. Maybe he'll just live life as a single priest and officiate his sister's wedding. Are there even churches in this world? He didn't remember seeing one so far.

"Yo! Michael, the estate is this way, watch where you're going!" His thoughts get disrupted by Selina's shout.

"Coming!" Eh, whatever, he'll just study up a bit on the empire later.

As Selina entered her room, she felt so relieved. Today actually went by pretty smoothly despite a little hurdle. She had…fun, a lot of fun. Maybe things were looking up for her. She could spend the rest of her days eating, playing, and socializing every once in a while when Troye demands it. Oh wait, Michael's little situation. She has to find a way to fix it, but what else was there for her to do? Just stick with the status quo and stick with her schedule.

Her status screen popped up, text visualizing on it.

"Don't grow complacent; remember what you're here for."

"Here for? I'm just here to survive" Selina continued reading the rest of the text.

"Take back what's yours. Don't you want to get revenge?"

"Revenge? Oh shut up. Amelia's problems aren't mines. The dragon shit is cool and all, but why I would care about some stupid grudge against humanity?"

"There's nothing you can do. The longer you survive, the faster your body digests the draconic blood flowing through you. Your ancestry will always haunt you."

Then, the screen disappeared.

"That was weird." It wasn't some words on a screen that vaguely guided her, it felt as though she was having an actual conversation. Regardless, it didn't matter, no one could control her but herself.

So, Selina closed her eyes hoping to drift away to a deep sleep, but when do things every go her way?

A different scene emerged into view.

There was Amelia like always and…Amelia?! Two Amelia's? 

The other Amelia grabbed Amelia by the throat, squeezing hard.

"Why didn't you just listen?!" She screamed out, her voice writhing with anger.

The other party replied with muffled chokes, so Amelia 2 loosened her grip.

"Wh-who are you? You aren't me! I'm me!" Amelia 1 spat out.

"No, you're me! I'm the original, you fool." Amelia 2 explained.

"H-how did you escape?! We weren't supposed to meet!"

"I haven't escaped because an idiot like you didn't listen and obey my commands! You had one fucking job but nooo, you just had to fall for the pleasures of this world." Her grip tightened on other's throat.

Amelia 1 struggled within her grasp, but unfortunately, couldn't escape.

Selina was at the edge of her non-existent seat. What was happening?! The two Amelia's were talking, but she couldn't hear no longer. Then, as the life was sucked out of Amelia's 1 eyes, Amelia 2 stared right at her. Was this a warning? Her question couldn't be answered as the scene was abruptly cut, as if she wasn't allowed to be there anymore. 

Her status screen popped up once more.

"Do you get it now?"

"Quite frankly, no. I don't and I don't care!" Selina was so confused, why is this happening to her?! Right when she was feeling so happy too.

"Just, listen to m-" The screen shuts down suddenly.

"Fuck this all" Selina smacks her face with her palm. Why couldn't she just relax for once? No, it's not like she has a time limit or anything, she can spare a few days just for enjoyment. As of now, she'll keep these moments to herself. She didn't want to burden her brother who just came back from months of struggle.
