part 5

Tom opened his eyes again. He was in a large white room, and the word "Lobby" was displayed. He then stared at the system message.

Phase 1 Completed. Reward: Awakening.

At that moment, Tom began to hear noises coming from his body, as if his bones were shifting.

A normal person would scream and crawl in pain, but Tom didn't feel any pain, so his body fell to the ground, but he made no sound as his bones changed.

After 15 minutes, a message appeared stating the process was complete. Tom stood up; he had grown 2 centimeters taller. He looked around the room, saw a fountain in the corner, and walked over to it.

He saw his reflection in the fountain—a handsome, more attractive face, with sharper features, a little more handsome than before. Tom then looked at his stats.

Tom looked at his abilities and thought they were incredibly strong. Then, the countdown started.

Test 2 Commencing.

When Tom opened his eyes, he was wearing a military uniform. The system message read:

"You will train for 2 months before the Training Zone 2 test mission."

Tom looked around and realized he was on a military base, surrounded by soldiers. Then, he heard a roar.

"Soldiers, crawl!"

They were apparently on an obstacle course, and Tom began to crawl. It was quite difficult, even though his body was strong.

The course was high-level, with mud pits and climbing sections.

Tom barely managed to complete the course, but there was a big time gap between him and the other soldiers.

Next, he went to the firing range where the commanders placed a damaged M4A1 in front of him.

Tom observed the soldiers around him. He had a good memory, so despite being slow, he managed to assemble the gun by watching them. They then started shooting at the commander's signal.

Then he remembered his passive ability, Killing Expert. A weapon was a form of combat, and his passive ability activated. His mind was flooded with information.

He was thinking about how to shoot better with each shot—targeting, aiming, sighting, etc. Just then, a notification appeared.

He had gained a new skill. He kept shooting, and by the end of the day, he could say he was on the same level as a soldier with 2 years of experience.

Then the commander took them to an area with scattered houses. Their company consisted of 800 soldiers in total.

They were divided into 4 teams: Red, Blue, Green, Yellow.

Tom was assigned to the Red team. The commander began to explain:

"Each team will be assigned a flag. Teams whose flags are destroyed will automatically lose."

"The last remaining team members will earn 20 points."

Everyone started to put on their uniforms, and the commander said:

"Even though the guns you use won't shoot bullets and won't hurt as much as real bullets—since they shoot compressed paint—you still don't want to get shot in the rear, do you?"

The soldiers laughed, but the commander silenced them with a look.

The teams then split into their designated areas. When Tom went to his area, a message screen appeared in front of him.

"Team Leader or Soldier (Whatever you choose in the next few days, you'll still get to make a decision)."

Tom thought to himself, "This is going to be exciting."
