Zaynix Arrival
As Gunnar and Ray were talking they heard a gentle knock on the door
"Come in" Gunnar said. His assistant entered
"Mayor, sorry to disturb you, but there is a situation at hand" his assistant said
"What's going on" Gunnar asked
"Zaynix is here" his assistant said while adjusting the glasses on the bridge of his nose
"Go bring him here, what are you doing still standing here" the mayor shouted
"Sir, I don't think I can approach him, he doesn't look to be in a good mood" the assistant said frightened
"Fine Ray go welcome our guest" Gunnar said
"OK" Ray said and left with the assistant
At the party
Ray approaches Zaynix who is standing with his men slowly sipping a glass of wine, his cold aura still oozing out making the temperature in the room cold
"Zaynix, to what do we owe this visit" Ray said on getting there. Zaynix just glanced at him and said
"Raymond Ross, it is clear that you and the mayor like playing with fire and it is sure to burn you" Zaynix said
"What do you mean" Ray asked a little frightened
"Where is the mayor" Zaynix asked instead ignoring his question. Ray didn't bother to question him any further because Zaynix was a man of few words
"He is in the office and he told me to escort you there" Ray said, Zaynix just stared at him but that stare was enough to send chills down his spine
"I'll say this and I'll say it once, tell the mayor to come welcome me himself, as you know I'm not some common visitor who he can just summon to his office" Zaynix said coldly
"But Zaynix the mayor is a very busy man..." Ray couldn't complete his sentence before Zaynix interrupted saying
"You know I don't like repeating myself, I'm Zaynix Darco, the CEO of Vitalis Ventures, and you very well know I can end both you and the mayor with just a snap of my fingers" Zaynix said
"I'll go tell him right away" Ray said frightened
Ray rushes into the mayor office looking flustered
"Gunnar, I'm afraid I've got some bad news" Ray said, beads of sweat trickling down his face
"What is it Ray" Gunnar said looking up from his desk
"And where is Zaynix" Gunnar added
"I'm afraid he refused to come, he says you must come greet him personally" Ray said
"What !, that arrogant ..., who does he think he is" Gunnar said enraged and slamming his hands on the desk
"Gunnar, I think it would be wise for you to go welcome him, he is a man a great power and influence, he can do anything with just a phone call" rayysaid trying to reason with Gunnar
"Wise ?, you think it's wise to let some kid dictate him, I'll show him who's boss here" Gunnar said storming out of the office and went to the reception, as he approached Zaynix he forced a smile on his face
"Ah, welcome, I apologize for not coming earlier, to what do I owe this visit" Gunnar asked
"I think it would be better if this conversation is held in your office, what do you think" Zaynix asked
"Sure that wouldn't be a problem" Gunnar said. Just as they were about to go the master of ceremony sighted the mayor
"Let us welcome the mayor as he comes to give his speech".
" Zaynix please follow Ray to the office, I'll be there shortly" Gunnar said
"No problem" Zaynix said and they both went to the mayor office while the mayor went to give his speech, after giving his speech he went to the office
At the mayor office
"To what do I owe this visit, Zaynix" Gunnar said
"I'm a man of few words so just cut to the chase" Zaynix said and took off his hat, his piercing blue eyes boring into the mayor's
"I don't quite get what you are talking about" Gunnar said trying to sound normal
"Oh you will very soon" Zaynix said bringing out a Vandal pistol
"I speak with actions and not words" Zaynix said heartlessly. At that moment both Gunnar and Ray got to their feet
"Now now it hasn't come to that Zaynix" Ray said
"You keep quiet and I'll do the talking" Zaynix said in a cold tone and they both kept quiet, after that he gave a signal to his men and they forced both Gunnar and Ray to their kneels
"Now let's get down to business, shall we, Gunnar you and Ray tried to renege the contract" Zaynix said
"Please try to understand....." Gunnar began but was cut off by Zaynix
"Understand what, there is clearly nothing to understand, Gunnar I out you on that seat and Ray if it weren't for me you'd be dead today" Zaynix said
"Look, Zaynix we are truly sorry but we were fed lies about you, we were told that you were planning to kill us" Gunnar said nervously
"Is that so" Zaynix said looking him in the eye with nothing but pure hatred
"Yes" they both chorused
"Well the person that fed you with those lies is not here to save you, why is that" Zaynix asked
"Well ..." Gunnar was at a loss for words
"Cat got you tongue" Zaynix said and smirked
"Why don't we play a little game, heads goes to Gunnar while tails goes to Ray" Zaynix said and flipped a coin, it landed in tails
"Today is your lucky day Ray, any last words" Zaynix said and smirked
"What do you mean" Ray asked visibly shaken
"It means you get to die first" Zaynix said and pointed the gun at Ray, just as he was about to kill the triggger Ray said
"Wait" Ray shouted
"What is it" Zaynix asked visibly annoyed
"I have a beautiful daughter, I can give her to you, just please spare my life" Ray said
"What makes you think I'm interested in your daughter " Zaynix said
"Will I thought....."
"You my friend thought wrong, any last words" Zaynix asked
"No" Ray said and just as Zaynix was about to pull the trigger a men of his came and whispered something in his ear
"Count yourselves lucky, you don't get to die today but you surely will" Zaynix said and got up, he arranged his suit and put his hat on
"Goodbye for now" he said and left the office with his men. The moment he left both Gunnar and Ray let out a sigh of relief.
