An Interruption

As Hades was about to vote a warning suddenly went off, it rang throughout the building leaving everyone on high alert.
Cronos looked startled.
"Everyone...I just got a message."
"A level 7 disaster has appeared in the city."
Disasters are monsters that have mutated to become much more powerful, monsters and disasters appeared one and a half century ago when humanity was doing an experiment on how to cross over other worlds and it resulted on earth being interconnected to another world by a portal that appeared randomly throughout the planet, this period of time were humanity's dark ages.
When disasters first appeared chaos ensued all over the world, at just the first day over a hundred million people had died and the damage done to the infrastructure of every country was irreversible, unable to hold off the disasters and monsters that appeared humans began collecting and testing the bodies of dead monsters.
Scientists used these materials to experiment on people hoping that the otherworldly power of the monsters could be used by humans, and finally after years the first "Superhuman" appeared he had the power of a level 9 disaster "Silver Dragon" after the countries banded together and used almost all their resources to eliminate the disaster and collected samples of it.
This incident led to humanity finally working together as the countries merged and became one, there were no "Europeans, Asians, Caucasians etc." there were only humans.
After the successful experiment on the first superhuman the same scientists that experimented on him shared the formula throughout the world...which turned out to be a bad idea later on.
And the first few people that turned into superhumans using the samples from the level 9 disaster were the "1st Generation" more and more people got this power...and the humans were now more dangerous than the disasters.
After two 1st gen superhumans procreated, the first non-experimented superhuman was birthed, the "2nd Generation".
The first superhuman led humanity on their first step to reclaim earth from the disasters because at that point in time half the earth was claimed by the disasters, but finally after the superhuman appeared we were able to take back the lost lands of the earth, and the same superhuman went on to create the first Training centers for other superhumans...
Disasters are classified from level 1 to 10 being the highest ever recorded, a device has been created that could measure the energy coming from the disaster to be able to classify it accurately, and a level 7 disaster has power equivalent to that of a nuclear weapon.
The mood in the room got serious, all of them were surprised that a level 7 disaster appeared right after Jin had lost his powers, it almost seemed like it was planned...
Cratos shouted.
"What!?"
He was in disbelief.
Meanwhile Jin was thinking up a plan.
'A level 7 disaster is basically a walking nuke and if left alone it might grow stronger! This is bad...'
"Everyone, I have a suggestion."
Everyone looked at Jin.
Jin explained his plan to them.
"Aphrodite, You'll give buffs to Hermes and he'll take the disaster to a secluded area, Cronos, Poseidon, Hades, Ares and Cratos will wait there, meanwhile I'll hold off the swarms brought by the disaster, that's all, there's no time to hesitate."
After the meeting was dismissed they all went outside.
A huge humanoid monster with tentacle like arms as tall as the buildings roamed the city with each step bringing death and destruction, the screams and agony of people reverberated.
The monster let out a screech that echoed throughout the city, a screech powerful enough that it broke the windows of nearby buildings.
"AH!!!"
The screams of civilians filled the area.
Several soldiers were dispatched to evacuate the civilians from the area.
"Everyone!! Follow me to the bunker!!"
Amidst the chaos Jin got a mission from the system.
"Everyone!! Get ready!"
He shouted.
"Now!!"
The Rankers then proceeded to their positions.
"Hermes just so you know I'm only helping you for the safety of everyone."
Aphrodite said coldly.
"I don't care as long as we eliminate this disaster now so I can challenge Null again."

"System can you show me the rewards?"
[No, The rewards will vary according to your performance.]
"That's fine I guess."
Jin felt his heart race as swarms of different monsters were approaching him, he grinned at the opportunity to grow his strength again.
In a hurry Jin summoned the silver key.
"I'd like to upgrade Metal Body."

Jin lifted the metals around him from the rubbles, as he changed their shape to that of spikes.
The swarm of monsters were only a few meters away from Jin.
Jin looked at the swarm and smiled, strangely he wasn't nervous from this, instead he felt excited, he clenched his fist as the spikes flew towards the swarm.
"Die."
The spikes flew towards the monsters at incredible speed.

A pile of bodies lied in front of Jin, that situation could only be called a massacre, the monsters stood no chance against him.
Jin gathered the last bits of metal left in his area.
"I should be able to make myself a weapon with this amount."
The metals flew towards Jin's hands as he created a sword.
Jin then retrieved the metal spikes he used before.
"I should recycle these shouldn't I?"
He said as he laughed hysterically, the spikes he gathered formed a majestic formation behind him.
Meanwhile the raid for the disaster was ongoing.
"Everyone! Hermes is currently taking the disaster to your location, be on high alert!"
Aphrodite updated the others.
A few seconds after Aphrodite said that Hermes appeared 100 km away from the city with the disaster.
"Hermes get out of the way I'm gonna stop time around it!"
Cronos said as he held his hand and pointed it towards the disaster.
The disaster was stopped in its tracks instantly, it was completely still as if it was frozen.
The Rankers then charged their most powerful abilities.
Hades created a Lance with swirling fire around it that seemed to bring the fires of hell itself, the temperature of the area suddenly rose.
Hell Fire Lance
Poseidon summoned a huge sword as huge as the disaster itself from the clouds as rain appeared right after.
Heavenly Punishment
Cratos charged his fist with an immense amount of mana and striked down on the disaster.
Ares charged his spear with his unique mana as a brilliant fire aura emanated from it, as he pulled back his hand the air around him compressed.
Spear of Destruction
As the spear flew towards the disaster, the terrain around it was scorched in flames, destroying even the boulders in their surroundings.
A cloud of dust covered the entire area they were in.
"Is it dead?"
Cronos asked while coughing as he walked through the dust cloud.
Suddenly the disaster let out a screech that blew the dust away.
"SCREE!!"
The rankers covered their ear from the horrifying sound the disaster let out.
"Tch! Everyone get out of the way!"
Cronos prepared an attack.
"Time Stop."
Time stopped around him.
Cronos' nose then suddenly started bleeding his eyes slowly turned bloodshot.
'I have to finish this fast or the consequences of this skill will be dire.'
"Decay!"
The disaster body decayed starting from its legs.
The symptoms of Cronos got worse, to the point that he coughed up blood.
'Shit I'm running out of energy, I need to finish this now!'
Cronos used every last bit of his energy before he passed out.
Before the disaster could fully decay Cronos passed out and his time stop ability was deactivated, but the disaster's body decayed to the point that only his head was left.
Everyone was shocked at the sudden change.
'He must have used Time Stop.'
Poseidon thought to himself.
"Hermes! Take Cronos and go!"
Cratos shouted.
'At least we were able to take all of its limbs!'
Then suddenly the disaster's head pulsated rapidly, it started growing back its body and limbs one by one.
"NO! This is bad!"
Cratos jumped towards the disaster and punched it with all his power.
Cratos blew a hole in the center of its almost fully formed body.
"Cratos! Get out of there!"
The disaster slammed Cratos to the ground.
Hades shouted.
'This is the first time in a while that I've had fun!'
Ares had a nervous smile.
Meteor.
Hades casted another spell.
The ground shook as it was felt all over the world.
"Poseidon! Once the Meteor gets close enough create a barrier to contain its power!"
"I know!"
Poseidon created a barrier of compressed water.
"Don't just take all the fun!"
Ares used up all his mana and conjured a huge spear the air around him swirled around the spear as he threw it towards the disaster.
The disaster's entire body was scorched yet it was still alive.
"Tch!"
Ares' vision then started to blur, he couldn't keep his eyes open.
'Did I use too much mana?'
Ares passed out from his excessive use of mana
"That was highly unnecessary!"

Meanwhile at Jin's side.
"Are they not finished yet?"

Suddenly Jin felt the ground shake as he lost his balance and fell to the ground.
'Don't tell me!?'
He looked at the sky and saw the meteor Hades summoned.
"Did something happen?! I didn't expect them to use that last resort so soon, I guess the fight's over now I should hurry and finish this."
"Come at me!"
Jin shouted as the monsters rushed towards him.
Jin shot his metal spikes towards the swarm as he dashed with his sword towards them.
A moment later their bodies fell to the ground, Jin's body was full of the monsters' blood.
'I'm tired.'
Jin said as he took a deep breath.
He compressed the metal spikes and his sword to make a huge blade.
"It's over...DIE!"
He slashed the blade horizontally as the bodies of the monsters were cut in half.

"Tch, there's still so many of them left."
Jin was out of breath as he slowly backed away, the metal spikes he had were keeping the monsters at bay.
'Should I gamble and use 'That'? I have no other choice.'
"System, take out the mystery box."
A black box appeared in front of Jin, as he crossed his fingers and hoped for the best Jin opened the box.
"Open."
Suddenly a flash of light covered the area and blinded Jin.
"Ah!"
After a few seconds the light disappeared.
As Jin opened his eyes a diamond key appeared in front of him.
"What is this..."
[A diamond key! You're very lucky it's a key that allows you to gain one stat or ability from your prime!]
Jin thought for a moment at what he would the most.
"The thing I need most right now are..."
"Stats."

Jin's stamina was recovered as his body was filled with energy.
"It also replenished my stamina! this fight is as good as over!"
Jin swung his blade once more.
"Ah!!"
He shouted as he swung his blade.

Jin's blood sprayed the area.

"I'm out of energy..."
Jin fell on his knees.
And even though his body has lost consciousness his willpower never wavered and forced his body up.
Jin opened his eyes.
"No! Not yet!!"
He shouted as he forced himself to stand up.
"Haa."
He disassembled the blade to create the spikes again.
Die.
He said as the spikes flew towards the remaining monsters.

After hearing the message Jin closed his eyes he was relieved, he finally finished it.
'It's over.'

"AHH!!! The meteor is about to make impact!!"
"BOOM!"
As the meteor hit the disaster a powerful shockwave flew past them and the space inside the barrier was scorched on fire to the point that the barrier completely evaporated.
The steam from the barrier covered the area.
After the barrier disappeared the body of the disaster had turned to dust.
'Is it finally over?'
they asked themselves.
"I'm completely out of mana."
Hades fell to the ground.
And meanwhile Hermes met up with Aphrodite and dropped off Cronos
"Aphrodite I have no time to explain, heal him, now!"
"I know! Don't pressure me!"
"Just focus on him."
Hermes then went back.
"Is it finally done?"
He asked.
Poseidon said
"Yes, We did it...you should go check up on Null."
"That guy's fine I went to him before coming here..."
"I can tell your lying, even if you hate him we still can't afford to lose him."
Poseidon continued to lecture Hermes.
"I get it! Just cause I'm the youngest out of the Rankers doesn't mean that I need to be lectured every time!"
"Also I bet that guy hasn't even cleared the monsters yet!"
Hermes then left to go to Jin.
'It's been so long since we had a raid like this.'
Poseidon reminisced, as he gazed at the sky while lying down.
