"Of all.. places you should be seen in the village, you choose to be seen in a gambling house a place full of rou..gh and cruel men and you went there with no guard to protect you," King George furiously shouted at Zara who seemed less concerned.
"Calm down Papa, nothing happened to me, I'm perfectly okay, "
"Look at you, so... nonchalant, no ethics or manner, where did I failed in training you,"
"I only went to the casino house because I was just trying to help those kids beggars," Zara added, hoping her father will see her in a different light.
"Helping the kids or whatever you claimed to be doing out there isn't a job assign to you, you're a princess, and Endorian princess for that matter, you need to know how to behave like one, that's why Mrs Piper would be giving you training on how to be one,"
"No..., Not her," Zara always hated Mrs Piper, her class was always boring, she always make Zara wear uncomfortable dresses and do uncomfortable things like walking with a glass of cup on her head, the worst is when she tells the palace chefs to restrict Zara from having certain meals.
"You can lock me up in my room or force me to do chores with the maids for a week but please don't make her come back,"
"I'm afraid she's the better choice, especially now your groom Kingdom may come for you,"
"Okay I didn't hear what you said just now," Zara added, after a long moment of silence, refusing to process what her father said.
"George..," her mother tried to caution her father from saying more about the betrothment.
"No Catherine, she needs to know what coming for her,"
"What's coming for me," Zara asked with a panicked voice, starring widely at both her mom and dad, hoping it not what she thinks it is.
"Are you guys trying to marry me off,"
"Long ago, Endoria and Baneria was at war with each other for twenty years, the next rulers which was I and King Luther agreed that if our first child were of opposite genders then they will be married to each other as a sign of peace...,"
"And one of that first child is me right, I can't believe this, I'm married without my permission," Zara began to tear up, the mother rushed to support her but she stepped back refusing her mother's comfort.
"Is not as bad as how you view it Zara,"
"It's that bad... mother, I thought you were my mother," she sobbed uncontrollably as she ran out of the room.
Eugene was busy scolding Holly for eating all the cookies before Zara hurriedly entered jumping onto her bed.
"I'm telling you the truth, Holly was the one who finished every....," She stop when she heard a cry and immediately rush to Zara.
"What wrong, why are you crying," Eugene questioned making Zara to sit straight on the bed, her face was all puffy and her eyes were red from crying heavily.
"I just found out that I'm going to marrying someone I don't know," Zara answer, sniffing loudly.
"So the rumors are true,"
"You knew about it,"
"I wasn't sure..., But I did hear some maid gossiping about it, I didn't bother telling you about it for I thought the weren't true, I never imagined your father would that without informing you,"
"Apparently he did,it happened since I was little and they only care to inform me now, even my mom kept it from me,"
"Maybe they had a reason," Eugene suggested hoping Zara would see her parents in a better light.
"Their reasons for doing that was nonsense, they should have told me long ago, am already eighteen, what if he just show up anytime from now and start demanding for his BRIDE..., The worst part is that I can't even say no to it," she got up pushing her hair backwards, the word bride was already sounding scary.
"Come on...," Eugene stood up as well giving Zara a tight hug, as Zara returned the gesture, Holly came towards her holding her by the legs, it helped her feel more relaxed
"everything will be just fine," Eugene whispered, patting her on the back, as they stood there for a long time.
