In a cave like any other was a scene unlike any other. It was two Monsterous creatures looking perplexed at each other. One was a werewolf and the other…uhh, was a creature of some sort.

'Uhhh, what? Your telling me it can talk? Then why didn't it say anything, and the hell am I supposed to say?'

"…"

"…"

"I'm a Qunari."

Neither of them have really moved, or lost that confused look on their face

The werewolf is the one to break the silence this time

"…What do you want from me?"

"…"

"Information. I'm new to these lands, your able to turn into a human by day yes? Tell me of the land and such and I won't eat you."

The wolf stalls, seemingly thinking of what to say.

'Why do I feel like the bad guy here, it attacked me first didn't it?'

If Ashaak didn't want to keep the intimidation thing he has going for him right now, he would've had a awkward look on his face

Ashaak speaks again

"Come. Sit by the fire, I have a extra rabbit here. Eat."

Although the wolf seemed wary and still confused, at the mention of food a certain glint once again appeared in its eyes. A glint Ashaak recognized.

'Still not in total control huh, guess it's a intense urges kinda thing rather than complete irrationality. Maybe bursts of mindlessness though.'

Ashaak picks the rabbit up and throws it to the wolf, it catches it in its mouth and almost immediately finishes it.

After it finished it once again looked at Ashaak, with that same look in its eyes.

Ashaak narrowed his own eyes in return

"Calm yourself."

He was not particularly loud, but the tone and the almost demonic sound of his voice had the intended effect.

Werewolves are monsters yes, but they are also animals. And animals know when to flee, and when to fear. And if Ashaak is one thing, its something to be feared. Hunting is never a beasts main priority, survival is.

And thus, it calmed itself.

"Now sit."

It did.

For a few moments it was silent, if one were to stumble upon this cave at this exact moment they would be in for quite a peculiar scene.

A werewolf and a monstrous creature calmly and cordially sitting by a fire, it was almost comical.

The silent but tense air was eventually broken by none other than Ashaak himself.

"What's your name?"

The wolf looked surprised at the question, as if it never crossed its mind. Though this entire situation has been one big shock for it.

The wolf answers after a moment, though hesitantly

"Niellen"

"You are a man yes? I'm not too familiar with your kind."

"Aye."

"Tell me, how have you become a werewolf. A curse was it?"

"Aye, I was bitten many years ago. I've been…as I am now ever since. Whenever the moon strikes full I turn into this and lose me self. Though sometimes I can control my urges, to an extent."

'So werewolves are like vampires, well not Witcher vampires. Those are naturally born I'm pretty sure.'

Ashaak adjust his seating and leans forward, staring into Niellen's eyes

"And how are those urges now?"

"…Better than usual."

Ashaak once again leans back

"Good, so you shouldn't have any problems answering a few questions for me. Where are we?"

"Blackbough."

"And where's that exactly?"

"Northwest of Crows perch?"

Ashaaks eye twitches

"And where is Crows perch located, like the region it's in?"

A slightly confused look crosses Niellen's face

"..Velen?"

'Velen, Velen, Velen. Hmm….yeah I don't know. Sounds familiar, I think it's a pretty big region but that's about all I remember. Damn I wish I replayed the Witcher before I died.'

"And where's the closest village from here?"

An odd look takes on Niellen's canine face

"…."

'?'

"Is there a problem?"

That weird look on his face just seems to intensify with that question

'What the fuck?'

"…What…why do you want to know? If-if you don't mind me asking."

Seeing a werewolf speaking in its right mind is one thing, seeing it be bashful is a whole other thing

'Huh? The hell is he talking about?'

"What are you saying, speak plainly."

"It's…I leave into the woods every full moon to get away from others, to protect them. From me self. I…"

'Huh? The hell- ohhh! Don't tell me he thinks I'm gonna kill everybody in the village or something? I mean maybe it's not a unreasonable thought to have, but still…'

"I understand. You fear for what I'm to do once I get to the village."

"N-no! It's just-"

"Don't worry, I mean them no harm. I know you may not believe me, but honestly speaking, I will find the village eventually. Whether you tell me where it is or not, so you might as well just tell me. I give you my word no harm will come to the humans."

"…"

Ashaak narrows his eyes and his voice loses its relaxed tone

"I also give my word that if you don't tell me, harm will definitely come to those humans. Because I will find them sooner or later, and if you don't tell me their blood will be on your hands just as much as mine."

Whether or not Ashaak is petty enough to go through with that promise is unclear, perhaps it's even unclear to Ashaak himself. Perhaps not.

Niellen seemed surprised, then contemplative.

There's some moments of silence.

A quiet, almost resigned voice breaks that silence

"Very well. The nearest village is my own, Blackbough. Its located west from here, if you were to run at a sprint you should get there before long."

Ashaak looses his glare and gains a toothy smile in its stead

"Good man!" Ashaak slaps him on the shoulder, he flinches. "Now was that so hard?"

There's an awkward silence

"Anyway, how'd you think your people would react to seeing me?"

Niellen sends a skeptical look his way

"…Bad. Very bad."

"Yeah, thought so. How about if I was cloaked up and you vouched for me in the morning? As your human self."

A worried look crosses Niellen's face

"…I don't think me vouching for you would be enough… Nor would a cloak…Of any kind."

Ashaak gets a contemplative look on his face and quietly utters

"…Yeah, your probably right."

A look of relief crosses Niellen's face.

"I suppose well find out for sure in the morning!"

Then a look of horror.
