"You don't need someone leeching off of your naivety. You have a good heart, but I just won't have a part of this, neither me nor your mother. Now, you can do as you please at the Academy, and we'll be willing to help you. But don't hope for any help with this nameless business you've got going on. It's unsightly of a Farren to conduct themself in such a way."
Her anger only continued to fester as tears fell down her face. She seemed to have reached a point of anger that even the others hadn't seen. She began to turn away from her father, seemingly not wanting to even look at him in the moment of frustration. She couldn't muster the words to say as she stood angrily. Suddenly, steps were heard stepping forward in Reno's direction. His eyes rose as the hooded boy he spoke of suddenly stood directly in front of him.
"You don't know… half of what she's done. Not only for me but for the rest of the people in the village."
"What was that…?"
"She not only helped protect everyone from the adventurers but stayed to ensure everyone was cared for when she didn't have to. She also treated everyone with kindness, no matter who they were… She didn't even know any of us before that! She's the kindest person I've had the pleasure of meeting…"
His fists clenched in anger as she looked at her bewildered father's face. He didn't know why he felt so emotional about what was going on, but he knew it wasn't right to let her sit there and be brought down by her father's words. His words continued to flow in a fast flurry, as he wasn't thinking anymore and was purely running off of his own emotions.
"You don't seem to understand what it means to people like us to be shown such kindness and someone expecting nothing from it. It's something special, and clearly, you've never felt that. I don't need the help of someone too nearsighted to see his daughter's feelings. I may not know what it's like to talk to someone of such high standing, but if you act like this, then I'd rather just do it on my own. I'll leave and figure things out if that makes you feel better about what you said."
He began to walk in the other direction they had walked in as the workers on standby opened the doors. Everyone looked at him as he passed by, stunned. They never expected him to speak out the way he did to someone of power like Reno and make such a proclamation. Terra looked at him with disappointment and frustration on her face, seeing him walk away, though he had words for her before he left.
"Sorry, Terra. Your plan didn't work out as we hoped but don't worry. We will figure it out! Trust me, alright?"He nodded to her and continued to walk out as the doors slowly closed behind him with a big thud. The room fell silent as Reno adjusted his tie and looked at Grant discerningly, considering the situation.
"We can discuss what we must do at another time. I've gotten myself worked up on the topic."
"Of course, Reno."
Grant bowed to the group as he followed after Dante as the doors opened and closed once more. Leaving the two students and her parents alone. Natasha looked with a face of worry as Terra turned to him once more before speaking again.
"I HATE YOU!"
She then stormed off quickly, with Xavien worriedly following after her and calling her name. Reno looked off in another direction as she left before Natasha placed her hands on him and held him closely. He then held her in return before letting out a deep sigh.
"I'm sorry, I just couldn't let her…"
"It's OK, love… but you need to fix this problem you two have…I don't want you two to keep fighting…"
"...Yeah."
