The group exited the underground complex then quickly left the manor, heading towards the forest. All of the former slaves followed without question, they were terrified to even attempt to defy the fearsome devil leading the group. They walked for nearly an hour when they approached a clearing. There were six horses tied to a large wooden cargo trailer for the liberated slaves to rest in.
"I'll need all you to sit in the back, it'll be cramped so try not to take up too much room. We'll arrive at our destination at sunrise. There's rations in the back but be careful, if you've been starved and eat too much food too fast, you could die. Line up at the back and get in one at a time. We need to leave as soon as possible so don't waste my time."
Hagan wasn't exactly experienced with leading large groups of people, especially ones who were deathly afraid of him but held him in high regard at the same time. Luckily, Raaz arranged for a trustworthy driver to lead the carriage.
Fifteen minutes later, the caravan was moving forward at a steady pace, traversing the complex forest trail with ease. Now that they were on the move, Hagans job was to make sure nobody or nothing got near the group. Hagan's Blessing aided greatly in his success, especially the God of Sea's blessing. It took a lot of focus and was extremely difficult, but he was able to lay an invisibly thin layer of water across a fifty foot radius around him. In doing so, when the form was disturbed, such as something stepping on it, he would be able to perceive it and react accordingly.
He could have done the same by sensing the movement of the shadows, but as he was neglecting his blessing of the sea, he felt excited he could use it. There was many things Hagan still needed to experiment with, he hadn't yet attempted using multiple blessings at once and was much more efficient with certain ones.
Since the area the thin water covered, Hagan was able to dissolve into tue shadows and appear behind any who dared get too close. And in the forest there were a lot of hungry predators and hunters.
Hagan appeared back on the roof of the wooden caravan when he swung his blade downward to cleanse it of the blood and stared forward with a detached expression as he watched the sun rise.
"176."
As they arrived at Raaz estate, Hagan went to report to Raaz about the mission success then hurriedly went back to the inn.
He was mentally exhausted after using the Sea's Blessing along with Shadow's Blessing. Such a feat was by far his most taxing experience thus far. As he reached the inn, he took a seat on the bench outside before entering, thinking about the real world.
"Hey you little devil, how's it going?"
The inn keeper took a seat next to him and stared forward as well. Hagan was silent for a few seconds, not wanting to answer the truth.
"I've been better. And you?"
"Same old, same old. You know, you've been here for a while but I still don't know your name. Your real name."
Hagan lowered his gaze to the ground in front of him and sighed.
"My… My name is The Promised. I don't like being called that, so I prefer people call me Hagan."
The inn keeper gave him a dubious look.
"Well, my name is Gloria. So… do you want to talk about whatever's nothing you? I don't want to push you but I am concerned, you seem really exhausted and barely eat."
A pale smile appeared on Hagan's face and he turned towards her.
"Let's talk elsewhere."
