The rest of the afternoon with Dennis was far from easy. After all, I couldn't fool myself. Luckily, I had a built-in excuse I was pregnant. So in the end, I just lay in bed while Dennis worked in the living room, focused on his tasks.
When he left around dinner time, I decided that if I wanted to feel at ease for the rest of the night, taking a warm bath to wash off his scent was a good idea.
My life would never return to normal. I had no choice but to accept this harsh fate early on.
No matter how Dennis acted around me, no matter how happy I pretended to be, I had to face the fact that as long as I was a breeder, I still had value. Once the job was done, so was my life.
'Don't cry, Gianna. Tears are the most useless thing in the world,' I told myself. A knock at the door made me turn and check who it was.
"Come in," I called out, wiping the marks off my body. I had canceled my dinner plans with Charlotte and Jessica, so it was probably Susan who was bringing me food.
