Chapter 48 I Won't Give Up

The smell of disinfectant hit my nose. I hated that smell. Since I got pregnant, I'd become sensitive to many different odors. The smell of Cairnwood Hospital was high on my disgust list. But today, I was happy to be here.

"Good morning, Gianna." Doll greeted me with a warm smile.

I stared at her, thinking, 'She was in charge of my health... did she know what Dennis meant?' But she'd always been supportive of me. I was sure she wasn't involved in Dennis' plans.

"Hey, Doll." I smiled sweetly, trying to stay positive. "Can we see the baby today?"

"That's the plan. We'll try a proper ultrasound today. I know we couldn't see much last time because you delivered too early, and now we should be able to get a clear image," she said.

Despite everything that had happened recently, this was something I'd been looking forward to. I was excited to see my baby. "Yeah, I barely slept last night."
