BLACK-EYED CHILDREN

ORIGIN: Modern folklore

These eerie entities are look just like young children.

They are usually between the ages of six and sixteen, with pale skin, emotionless expressions, and, most disturbingly, completely black eyes— with no single whites or pupils in them.

Their eyes are said to drive a feeling of dread and extreme fear in any who encounters them.

Stories of the Black-Eyed Children began spreading in the late 1990s, with one of the earliest and most famous accounts coming from a Texas journalist named Brian Bethel.

He spoke about his experience where two boys approached his car, asking for a ride.

According to him, despite their seemingly ordinary request, his gut told him something was wrong.

It was a strong sense of danger he felt, so when he noticed their pitch-black eyes, pure panic set in, and he quickly drove away.

All encounters with the black eyed children often follow a similar pattern: the children appear at night, knocking on doors, asking to be let inside.

They may request to use a phone, ask for a ride, or seek shelter.

And those who let them in are said to suffer from misfortune, illness, or even worse, death.
