CROOKED MAN

ORIGIN: An Old English Nursery Rhyme.

The Crooked Man is an urban legend that has captured the imaginations of people worldwide and has stirred fear across for generations.

He, the Crooked Man, is said to embody misfortune, malevolence, and death.

The old English nursery rhyme his story comes from reads:

"There was a crooked man, who walked a crooked mile,

He found a crooked sixpence against a crooked stile.

He bought a crooked cat, which caught a crooked mouse,

And they all lived together in a little crooked house."

The rhyme itself seems so harmless on the surface, but the urban legend surrounding the Crooked Man paints a far darker picture.

The Crooked Man is a twisted, deformed figure who appears only to those who are about to experience tragedy in their life.

His body is unnaturally bent, his limbs are twisted beyond the normal joints and sockets, and his face…

… Is frozen in a sinister grin.

When he's near, you can hear his creaking footsteps and faint whispering echoes of the nursery rythme.

According to the legend, once someone sees the Crooked Man, death and suffering follow.

Some versions claim that his curse can spread, causing an entire households to succumb to maddening insanity and misfortunes.

The Crooked Man is not just a figure from a child's song—

He is a harbinger of doom hiding in the shadows.
