VAMPIRE BEAST OF BLADENBORO

ORIGIN: Bladenboro, North Carolina.

This urban legend is one that gripped the small town of Bladenboro, North Carolina, in the 1950s. 

The creature is a largebblack or dark brown, cat-like beast, with glowing eyes and a continuous growling habit. 

It is notoriously known for its bloodthirsty attacks on livestock and pets, leaving behind their badly mutilated, clawed up bodies drained of blood—- which earned it the nickname "Vampire Beast."

The legend began in late December 1953 when residents started ginfiy their dogs and livestock killed rather savagely, with their bodies having strange puncture marks on them.

Witnesses talked about hearing unnatural screams and growls at night which lead to the entire town entering full panic mode.

Reports said the creature could overpower large dogs and drag them away without any difficulties. 

And some people said it was capable of leaping to long distances at a stretch moving with a supernatural speed and agility.

The creature was also so fast that it was hard to take not of its blurry form while it moved right past you.

Terrified by all these, the townspeople formed hunting parties, searching together in the dense woods and swamps surrounding Bladenboro—-

But the beast was never captured. 

Although the killings eventually stopped, the mystery behind the creature remains unsolved till this day.

Some believe it was a large wildcat or cougar, while others argue that it had to be more than just that.
