GNOME OF GIRONA

ORIGIN: Spain.

In the Catalonian city of Girona in the 1980s, a mysterious, humanoid creature was discovered.

This story gained popularity after a group of young hikers said they saw and even captured a small, human like being in a remote cave.

Their tale quickly spread, becoming one of Spain's strangest legends.

According to accounts, the hikers, by accident, found a dark, damp cave while exploring the forests outside Girona.

Inside, they noticed movement and, discovered a creature unlike any kind of animal they had ever seen.

It was a tiny, emaciated humanoid with a very verrrrrrry large head that looked unbalanced on its shoulders.

The creature also had sharp teeth, sunken eyes, and wrinkled, grayish skin, making it look both like a gnome and a goblin.

Scared yet excited, the group placed the creature in a bag and took it back to town.

However, it soon died, either from mistreatment, stress, or its inability to survive outside its habitat.

The hikers then preserved its corpse in a jar of formaldehyde and tried to show it to locals, but many dismissed the story, calling it a big fake story.

Later there were rumors that the remains of the Gnome of Girona were lost, stolen, or hidden away.

Some believe it was an unknown species, or maybe a mutated animal.

But others think it was just a well elaborate prank.

However, the legend still goes on in Girona, making many wonder just what else might still live in the region's caves and forests.
