This is a well known ghost story.
The Moss Beach Distillery is a historic restaurant overlooking the Pacific Ocean that is haunted by the spirit of a mysterious woman in a blue dress.
The woman is simply referred to as the Blue Lady.
During the Prohibition era in the 1920s, the distillery was a popular place that attracted both locals and travelers who quickly found it was the only place to buy illegal alcohol.
The Blue Lady was a young woman who visited the establishment several times.
She was married but had fallen deeply in love with a bartender or piano player who worked there.
Their affair was passionate but forbidden and rather tragically, her lover was killed near the cliffs.
And shortly afterward, the woman herself met a violent end.
Some versions of this urban legend say she was murdered; others say that she died from heartbreak or a fall from the rugged cliffs.
Since her death, numerous strange reports have kept coming in: lights turning on and off rapidly, objects moving on their own, cold spots, and a vision of a woman in a flowing blue dress walking near the cliffs or appearing inside the restaurant.
